Wyndham Hotels & Resorts (“Wyndham”) has recently inked three new agreements with Indonesia Hospitality Group. This comes as a lead-up to its participation at the upcoming Tourism, Hotel Investment & Networking Conference (THINC) 2023 held in Indonesia, on 6 and 7 September.
These signings follow the earlier signing of an exclusive development agreement between Wyndham and Indonesia Hospitality Group for the Howard Johnson by Wyndham brand, which saw the launch of the brand in Indonesia through Howard Johnson by Wyndham Pekalongan in February earlier this year. These new agreements welcome the further expansion of the Howard Johnson by Wyndham brand in Indonesia, as Wyndham innovatively adapts to owners’ business needs to help them maximise growth opportunities.
The signings are timely as the local tourism and hospitality industries in Indonesia are predicted to grow by US$21.93 billion between 2022 and 2026, according to Technavio. Furthermore, these sectors were also noted by Technavio to progress at a CAGR of 11.81% during the forecast period with a 6.09% year-over-year growth rate from 2022.
Rapid Expansion in Indonesia
With owner loyalty at the heart of Wyndham’s continuous expansion, Wyndham has been proactively engaging its potential owners and partners to lay the foundation of trust and cooperation. These partnerships continued to grow stronger even during the pandemic, where Wyndham tapped on its ‘OwnerFirst’ mentality to engage its stakeholders.
The three recent agreements comprise of the following properties under the Howard Johnson by Wyndham brand: Howard Johnson by Wyndham Kota Kedoya Jakarta, Howard Johnson by Wyndham.
LA Hub South Jakarta, and Howard Johnson by Wyndham Treepark Tangerang. An iconic name with global reach and rich history dating back to 1925, Howard Johnson by Wyndham prides itself on warm and honest guest experiences, offering owners an ideal franchise opportunity to reach travellers seeking mid to upper midscale accommodation.
Matt Holmes, Vice President of Business Development South East Asia & the Pacific Rim (SEAPR), Wyndham Hotels & Resorts said, “Indonesia has and always will be an integral market for Wyndham’s Asia Pacific growth strategy, particularly so with the rapid rise in international and domestic tourism numbers. In deepening our partnership with Indonesia Hospitality Group and tapping on their in-depth understanding of the local market, we are excited to be growing our presence across Indonesia with the Howard Johnson by Wyndham brand offering to achieve greater milestones. Nathania Putri Budidjaja, Director, Indonesia Hospitality Group shared, “With the full reopening of borders across Asia Pacific, we observed a strong travel demand for travellers to visit Indonesia.
