World Islamic Tourism Conference scheduled for September
The event will be held in Bandar Sunway on 12 and 13 September
Global experts in the field of Islamic tourism make their way to Malaysia next month for the fourth World Islamic Tourism Conference (WITC).
Scheduled for the 12th and 13th of September in Bandar Sunway just 20 minutes from Kuala Lumpur, the landmark event promises to be a pivotal moment in the global Islamic tourism landscape.
Organised by Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC), the conference features a dynamic agenda, including keynote addresses from renowned speakers and interactive panel discussions.
Attendees will have the unique opportunity to engage with pioneering ideas, network with peers from around the globe, and explore the latest advancements in Islamic tourism.
Nizran Noordin, Director-General of ITC, says: ITC director-general Nizran Noordin said of the event: “We are thrilled to host the fourth edition of the prestigious event in Malaysia, a country which once again ranked as the Top Muslim-Friendly Destination (OIC) in the Mastercard-CrescentRating Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI) Report, maintaining its position since 2015.”
Noordin added that hosting the WITC positions Malaysia as an ideal destination for Muslim travelers.
Experts and visionaries
This year’s lineup of speakers includes Creed & Culture CEO Omar Dacosta Shahid; Muzz App CEO Shahzad Younas; Mud Orange’s head of strategy Arif Miah; Marta Fernandez Martin, director of the Spain Tourism Board; Malaysia-Bosnia and Herzegovina Business Council vice-president Mirza Vejzagic; and Batik Air CEO Chandran Rama Muthy.
Apart from in-depth discussion on industrial digitalization and sustainability, the 4th WITC also highlights ‘The Power of Food’ to learn how food can be the focal point for a tour – instead of a solitary sandwich in a hotel room.
With the theme forging connections, sessions and discussions at the WITC will focus on understanding Muslim tourists, Muslim-friendly travel and community, growth and opportunity, and inclusivity.
WITC also encourages professionals in the Islamic travel sector to connect with industry leaders, policymakers, and influencers from across the globe, fostering dialogue and collaboration to address both challenges and opportunities.
