Wizz Air celebrates 5 million passengers from London Gatwick Airport

Wizz Air, Europe’s fastest growing and most environmentally sustainable airline globally is proud to announce that more than 5 million passengers have travelled from London Gatwick with the airline to 26 destinations in 16 countries.

The 5 millionth passenger was welcomed with a €200 voucher this week on a flight from Faro Airport to London Gatwick.

This milestone comes at the end of the summer season with Wizz Air operating 20 flights per day from London Gatwick, including daily flights to Athens, Faro, Nice and Tel Aviv.

In addition to the existing routes from Gatwick, the airline has recently announced two new routes from London Gatwick to Hurghada in Egypt and Prague in Czechia which will start on October 31^st.

Wizz Air’s operations at London Gatwick has gone from strength to strength, having carried over 2.7 million passengers over the last twelve months, up 131% from the previous year. The number of flights from London Gatwick by Wizz Air has also increased by 133% and the airline currently employs over 170 people at its Gatwick base.

Wizz Air operates from 8 airports across the UK including London Gatwick and this summer alone, the airline has carried over 4 million passengers in the UK.
