What would different countries look like ‘in a suitcase’? Gorgeous AI illustrations show us
Wizz Air have created beautiful AI images to show what over 30 countries would look like ‘in a suitcase’, to show off each destination’s unique beauty.
The airline wanted to create a series of images that give a sense of each country’s landscapes, cities and atmosphere. Wizz Air used the AI image generator Midjourney to see how well it could create these illustrations, and hoped to show readers a glimpse of these countries around the world, especially countries that are less well-known holiday destinations.
Some of the images created showed mostly buildings and cities, while others focused more heavily on the country’s natural scenery. For example, the image of Estonia in a suitcase shows plenty of pine forests and a surging river – perhaps the Piusa River – cutting through the centre.
In contrast, the image created to represent Portugal shows more buildings, filling up the suitcase in a variety of styles, from little houses to a fantastic domed building which could be the National Pantheon in Lisbon.
Wizz Air analysed the images, identifying some of the areas and landmarks the AI could be depicting. Readers whose eyes are drawn to a particular image might find a helpful recommendation of where in the country they might be able to find that kind of view.
