Virgin Australia Pride Flight is back for the fourth consecutive year, with more than 500 tickets currently available to purchase across three main Virgin Australia flights departing Melbourne and Brisbane to Sydney, ahead of the country’s largest annual gay and lesbian celebration.
RuPaul’s Drag Race will host Pride Flight again, which will depart on Friday, 1 March 2024. The flights will come alive with parties on the ground and in the air, with beverages, special performances by local LGBTQIA+ venues, Fluffy (Brisbane) and Sircuit (Melbourne), celebrity appearances, DJ tunes, and merchandise giveaways.
Seats on Virgin Australia’s domestic Pride Flight services are now available for $269* one-way in Economy, which includes entry to a departure gate party and the official Landing Party (after party) at Sydney’s iconic The Beresford in Surry Hills.
All domestic Pride Flight services will be operated by LGBTQIA+ people and allies, with unique flight numbers:
- VA1978 Melbourne > Sydney: Sydney had its inaugural Mardi Gras Parade in 1978.
- VA2017 Brisbane > Sydney: Same-sex marriage became legal in Australia in 2017.
As in past years, $30 from each domestic Pride Flight ticket will be donated to Minus18, an Australian organisation that helps LGBTQIA+ youth.

Tickets to the official Ovolo Hotels x Virgin Australia Pride Flight Recovery Brunch are also on sale for those looking to wind down after their Friday night festivities. For $99, Pride Flight passengers may experience a Lululemon-led morning recovery session at Ovolo in Woolloomooloo. From 11 a.m., there will be all-inclusive drinks, dancing, and prizes at the hotel’s Alibi Bar & Dining.
