Virgin Australia enhances technical partnership with Amadeus
Content from the Australian airline will be fully integrated into travel sellers’ preferred booking environments
Virgin Australia announced that it recently expanded its distribution agreement with aviation IT solutions provider Amadeus following renewal.
Under this expanded agreement, Virgin Australia will make its offerings available to global travel sellers connected to its digital network. While this will be done via EDIFACT for the present, it will also be done through NDC channels in the future.
As such, content from Virgin Australia will be fully integrated into travel sellers’ preferred booking environments, including the Amadeus Selling Platform Connect, Amadeus Travel API, and even Cytric Easy, Amadeus’ self-booking tool for corporations, Cytric Easy.
The expanded partnership also means the technological collaboration covers a full suite of solutions for airlines and airports as well as loyalty and distribution.
Virgin Australia’s general manager for distribution Sandra Da Cruz-Brits said: “Over the past decade we have expanded our partnership [with Amadeus] and now look forward to deepening it further as Virgin Australia accelerates its transition to the world of modern airline retailing.”
Amadeus regional director for airlines in the South Pacific Lance Batty added: “Our multi-year agreement with Virgin Australia builds on over a decade of continuous partnership with the innovative carrier. We welcome the opportunity to work with the airline to improve its travel retailing offering, with a relationship that now encompasses IT solutions, loyalty, distribution and more.”
