Virgin Atlantic launches ‘Oscars season’

Customers travelling with Virgin Atlantic this spring will be able to catch up on all the major Hollywood blockbusters, as the airline hosts a special ‘Oscars’ season of movies on board.
Between February and May Virgin Atlantic will screen every single nominated film in the categories of: Best film, Best Actor, Best Director, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, and Best Adapted Screenplay. Major hits on board will include La La Land, Manchester by the Sea, and Moonlight.
Virgin Atlantic has a longstanding relationship with the film industry – appearing in movies such as James Bond and Love Actually -and offers all the latest movies as well as a wide range of TV shows plus a diverse music selection on individual seatback screens.
How many films could you fit into a flight?
- On a flight from Los Angeles to London Heathrow (11 hours 10 minutes) you could watch Hacksaw Ridge, La La Land, Manchester By The Sea, Fences, and Lion from the Best film category
- On a flight from New York JFK to London Heathrow (8 hours 10 minutes) you could watch Arrival , La La Land, Manchester By The Sea, and Moonlight from the Best Director category
- On a flight from Boston to London Heathrow (6 hours 20 minutes) you could watch Fences, Arrival and Moonlight from the Best Adapted screenplay category
- On a flight from Orlando to London Gatwick ( 9 hours 35 minutes) you could watch Manchester By The Sea, Hacksaw Ridge, La La Land and Fences from the Best actor category
