VietJet announced it would begin service to Melbourne in April of this year, and now the airline has announced the expansion of its service to Sydney.
Vietjet will operate three weekly flights between Sydney and Ho Chi Minh City on April 12 2023, operated by A330 aircraft. These flights will leave Sydney at 10.15 am on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 4.30 pm.
The return flights leave at 7.30 pm on Wednesdays and Sundays and arrive in Sydney at 7.20 am (+1); flights will be operated by the carrier A330 Aircrafts.
On introducing the new route to Sydney, Vice President Nguyen Thanh Son said, “In the following year, we plan to expand to places like Brisbane, Darwin, and Adelaide.”
The airline said it intended to expand its network in 2023 to cover all five continents.
“With our state-of-the-art fleet and all-inclusive service package, Vietjet is well-positioned to extend its global network and boost trade and tourism,” Nguyen added.
“Our direct flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Melbourne and Sydney make it simpler and more convenient for business, education, and tourism between Vietnam and Australia.”
The airline has also publicly released thousands of free promotional tickets as it gears up for its 1 April Melbourne debut.
Vietjet will offer AU$0 tickets from February 14 to February 20 for nonstop flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Melbourne and Sydney for travel from April 8 to October 29 2023. Taxes and some additional costs must, however, be paid.
Only the carrier’s mobile app and website offer the tickets.
SkyBoss Business, SkyBoss, Deluxe, and Eco are some of Vietjet’s cabin options.
Each class of the low-cost airline includes “all-inclusive services such as up to 60 kg of checked luggage, organic food, complimentary travel insurance, and more,” the low-cost carrier claims.
“We look forwards to providing even more flying possibilities for the Vietnamese people throughout the five continents,” Nguyen said. “Our successful launch of the SkyBoss Business and Deluxe ticket classes has received great support from travellers.”
