Luxury hotel company Viceroy is set to make its debut in Southeast Asia, with a new project at Cocobay – the huge integrated resort rising on Vietnam’s central coast.
Set to open in 2020, Viceroy Da Nang Vietnam will be a five-star resort with more than 700 keys, including hotel rooms, suites and condominiums. It will also feature eight F&B outlets, swimming pools, a spa and extensive event space including three ballrooms.
Its twin towers will be joined at the top by a “crystal bridge”, from which guests will be offered views of Danang and the sea.
“This is Viceroy’s first foray into Asia’s most highly-anticipated market, which is being created from the ground up,” said Anton Bawab, regional president of the Viceroy Hotel Group. “The mix of culture, nightlife and hospitality that will come to life here will solidify Viceroy Da Nang Vietnam as a must-visit destination.”
Set between the river and sea, close to Danang and Hoi An in central Vietnam, Cocobay will become a major new destination for the region. Its master plan includes plans for a convention centre, opera house, sports arena, beach club, shops, F&B outlets and nightlife venues.
The development made headlines recently when Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese football star, announced that he had purchased a property at Cocobay.
Viceroy Da Nang Vietnam will join the company’s portfolio of 20 properties currently operating or under development in the Americas, Europe and the Middle East. Arguably the most famous is the Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi, which spans the Formula One motor racing circuit in the UAE capital.
As well as Vietnam, Viceroy is planning to launch in Serbia, Portugal, Turkey and Argentina in future.
