Travellers at Sydney Airport will soon have the option of breaking up their journey at a choice of two new hotels.
Earlier this week, Australia’s Mantra Group officially opened Mantra Hotel at Sydney Airport, a 136-room upscale hotel located close to the domestic terminals, T2 and T3. The eight-storey property will feature a 24-hour reception, restaurant, bar and internet kiosk.
And TFE Hotels is planning to add a new lower-midscale option in the coming weeks, with the launch of the 209-room Travelodge Hotel Sydney Airport on O’Riordan Street and King Street, 500 metres from the terminal entrance. These two properties will help cater to the 42 million passengers who travel through Sydney Airport each year.
Speaking on the opening of the new Mantra hotel, Sydney Airport’s managing director & CEO, Kerrie Mather, said a new property located so close to the terminals would benefit travellers.
“We’re delighted to celebrate the opening of this fantastic hotel, providing even more value and choice for our customers – whether they want a convenient place to stay close to the airport or an easy commute to the CBD,” said Ms Mather. “Mantra Hotel at Sydney Airport helps meet the need for additional hotel accommodation as we continue to experience strong passenger growth.”
TFE Hotels said the new Travelodge, which includes a restaurant, bar, free Wi-Fi and an 800-bay car park, would provide “the perfect layover for the no-nonsense traveller seeking comfort and convenience at Australia’s busiest airport”.
“This… is part of the broader transformation of airport accommodation in Australia, which is turning airport hotels into appealing and desirable places,” added TFE Hotels’ CEO, Rachel Argaman.
These two new properties join brands such as Rydges, ibis, Pullman and Stamford Hotels in the vicinity of Sydney Airport.
