The Manchester Pride Festival is returning to the city over the bank holiday weekend and TUI will be taking centre stage as this year’s sponsor of Family Pride MCR.
Taking place on Saturday 26th August, Family Pride MCR will feature a special programme of activities centred around wellness, learning, and most importantly, fun! TUI will be bringing the holiday vibes to festival-goers with beach-inspired delights at Great Northern Square which is along this year’s parade route. Featuring the famous Captain T from TUI kid’s clubs, as well as spaces for families to kick back and relax, the spot will be a great area for family friendly fun.
Family Pride aims to reshape the narrative around families, recognising the diverse and evolving nature of modern family structures. The vision of the event aligns perfectly with TUI’s ongoing commitment to promoting inclusivity.
Over at the Manchester Pride Parade, TUI’s float will be giving a voice to their LGBTQ+ network who’s advocacy within the travel company has already helped create great policies for all colleagues. Around 100 walkers from TUI will be part of the historic parade, alongside popular LGBTQ+ comedy performer Pam Ann who has developed a cult like status all over the world with her masterful portrayal of an international airhostess.
Pam Ann said: “I am beyond excited to make sounds with the ice and look busy, busy, busy on my layover in my favourite hub Manchester this August where I’ll be celebrating Pride with fabulous TUI. The aviation world has been a huge part of my life for over two decades, and what a better way to enjoy Manchester Pride than with the incredible TUI crew. The airline culture is bursting with diversity and pride, and I am absolutely thrilled to be sashaying alongside all of you in the vibrant North. Touch trolley and run to the galley. Let’s make this Pride unforgettable. Get your glitter ready, because we’re about to paint Manchester rainbow.”
TUI will also be celebrating at the Gay Village Party where the holiday experience will be brought to life in the Alan Turing Stage with photo ops, chill out spaces, competitions and plenty of other fun activities from TUI.
Toby Horry, Head of Brand Marketing, said: “We’re so excited to be sponsoring Manchester Pride this year. We can’t wait to celebrate with our colleagues and show Manchester how much TUI values all our LGBTQ+ colleagues and crew.”
