After 48 years of fun-filled group trips across the USA, Canada, Alaska and Central America, TrekAmerica has ceased all travel operations.
The news saddened the travel community as it came a month after the news of the closure of STA Travel.
TrekAmerica champions “Tours for Non-Tourists,” a fun and low-cost way to travel across the continent. The company is famous for its package deals aimed at 18-to-35-year-olds and offered a fun and low-cost way to travel across the continent.
In a Twitter post, TrekAmerica made a sad announcement detailing its humble beginning of setting off in a van with young explorers to discover the hidden gems of America.

The company thanked its TrekAmerica Community for their support and the memories. Following the announcement, netizens uploaded tributes to the company and a nod to the “trips of a lifetime” that was offered by TrekAmerica.
Meanwhile, those who have an ongoing booking with TrekAmerica will receive full refund. They can also transfer the booking to TrekAmerica’s sister company Exodus Travels.
“Our team will be in touch directly with everyone with a booking over the coming days to arrange this, and we appreciate your patience in waiting for us to contact you,” the statement read.
