Travel 2 sees a rise in winter sun bookings

Travel 2 is seeing an increase in winter sun bookings and to help agents sell these holidays, the operator has launched its third ‘Winter Sun’ mini brochure. Produced in conjunction with airline partners Etihad Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Delta Air Lines, the Winter Sun mini brochure for 2019/2020 features many deals available until 27 December.

South Africa and California have been added in this collection, along with a selection of cruise itineraries drawn from the operator’s existing cruise programme.

Kerry Gallagher, marketing director of the company said: “Thailand continues to go from strength to strength and is a fantastic destination to get some winter sunshine, as well as being great value for a long-haul holiday. We are already around 15% up for Phuket and Bangkok, while Khao Lak – which is the ultimate peaceful resort destination – increased by 34% from last year.”

Soft adventure is booming too, especially the more quirky ones. For example, motorhome touring in New Zealand has jumped 40% this year. Agents should have the confidence to pitch these types of holidays because the appetite for them is rapidly growing, he added.
