Tourism Malaysia brings its Visit Malaysia campaign to Bangladesh
The tourism board promoted the campaign at this year’s Dhaka Travel Mart
Tourism Malaysia vigorously promoted its Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign at the 20th Dhaka Travel Mart (DTM) 2025 in Bangladesh from 6th to 8th February.
During its 13th appearance at the DTM, the Malaysian delegation made up of tour operators and airlines, along with representatives from Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) and KPJ Healthcare Berhad, presented the best of what their country had to offer to the Bangladeshi market.
Thanks to the growing demand for alternative and unique travel experiences, Malaysia has been diversifying its tourism products to cater to different types of travellers.
The country’s main tourism board also promoted medical, educational, and ecotourism to attract more tourists from Bangladesh and other countries in South Asia during the event.
An important market
According to Tourism Malaysia director-general Manoharan Periasamy: “We believe Bangladesh is one of the important markets for us, and therefore committed to strengthening our presence and working alongside tourism fraternities to ramp up Visit Malaysia 2026 campaign in this region.”
Tourism Malaysia’s participation at DTM 2025 served to raise Malaysia’s profile and showcase its unique tourism product offerings and forge closer relationships with its Bangladeshi counterparts.
On the other hand, the pre-arranged business-to-business (B2B) session opened doors to potential collaborations and further engagements.
In 2024, Malaysia recorded 25,016,698 international tourist arrivals and welcomed 143,919 Bangladeshi tourists.
The number is projected to grow to 31.3 million international tourist arrivals, with RM125.5 billion in tourism receipts, as targeted in 2025.
