Data is based on number of unique non-stop destinations served from each airport in H1 2024.
- Istanbul has been named as the ‘Most Connected Airport’ in 2024, with 309 destinations served from the Turkish hub – driven mostly by Turkish Airlines which serves more countries than any other airline
- Frankfurt Airport secured second position, with 296 destinations served in the first half of the year, followed by Paris Charles de Gaulle with 282 destinations
- No UK airport made the top 10, with Heathrow Airport coming in 12th position, with 221 destinations served, and Gatwick following in 14th with 218 destinations (joint with Madrid)
- In H1 2023, Heathrow secured 8th position, meaning it has fallen out of the top 10 – it is however up on its pre-pandemic (H1 2019) position of 18th
- Of this year’s top 20, half (10) were European airports, four were in both China and the US, and two in the Middle East.
