Three new series of the ITV documentary ‘The Cruise’, which will be set onboard two Princess Cruises ships, is to be filmed over the next few months. The new series will air prime time on ITV in 2018.
The documentaries will once again reveal what life is like for both crew and guests as they sail onboard a Princess ship. The new series follows the success of the previous two series, filmed respectively on Regal Princess in the Baltic and Royal Princess in the Mediterranean, which was a ratings success.
The new series will offer viewers the chance to see life on board as crew and guests take in even more exotic destinations. It will return to the 3,560-guest Royal Princess as she cruises the Mediterranean this summer, as well as the 2,600-guest Star Princess as she sails across Alaska.
Filming will then return to Royal Princess in November as the ship enters her Caribbean season.
Tony Roberts, Princess Cruises’ vice president UK and Europe, said: “After the success and popularity of the first and second series of The Cruise we are thrilled to have ITV back on board.”
“We are looking forward to what the new series will bring as viewers will have the chance to see destinations from the ports of the Mediterranean to the breathtaking glaciers of Alaska and the stunning beaches of the Caribbean.”
Paul Hamann, executive producer at Wild Pictures, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Princess Cruises again on this successful returning series. Viewers are really fascinated by the world of cruising, the workings of such a large operation and the exciting destinations this series gives them a passport to see.”
