As Barbiemania takes hold this summer, there’s no better time to visit The Pink Palace Experience – one of the quirkiest museums in the world and part of WOW – The Cultural District, Portugal’s newest cultural attraction of 7museums and 12 restaurants which tell the fascinating story of Porto’s history.
Portugal’s historic second largest city is famous for port wine, which has been the city’s main export for centuries, and so wine is – as you would expect – the most important theme of WOW.
The Pink Palace Experience is one of The Cultural District’s seven museums and is first and foremost a celebration of rose wine. But it’s much more than that. It’s an exaggerated, flamboyant and sensory experience that immerses visitors not just in the world of Rosé, but is a celebration of all things pink.
Curated with a distinctive vision that entertains, but also educates, each of the eleven rooms within The Pink Palace is different and unique, creating photo worthy and shareable moments and experiences for those wanting to learn about Rosé wine in a new and engaging way.
Throughout the experience there is the opportunity to try five different rosés: Quinta do Vale do Bragão Rosé, AIX Gran Vin de Provence Rosé, Mateus Rosé, Vértice Rosé Bruto and Croft Pink Rosé Port. Another great reason to celebrate endless summer.
Across the eleven rooms, visitors are introduced to the fact that rosés are made from grapes grown in different regions and climates around the world and using a range of winemaking techniques. Meaning, there is a true diversity of wine under this “pink hues.” To embark on this journey, you need a sense of humour, relaxation, an instinct for discovery, and, of course, a battery in your cell phone.
