JARED SIMCOX has been recruited as Scoot’s new general manager for Australia. Having started as a ground handler at airports in New Zealand, Simcox then moved to Australia to work for Curry Aviation and Groupon ANZ, where he most recently held the position of wholesale travel manager.
JEAN-MICHEL CASSÉ has been promoted to the role of chief operating officer for India & South Asia with AccorHotels. A French national, Cassé previously held the position of senior vice president for AccorHotels India. He has more than three decades of industry experience.
THOMAS ZHONG has become Pan Pacific Hotels Group’s new vice president of operations support & pre-openings. A Singaporean national, he has previously worked for Leading Hotels of the World and GHM. Most recently, Zhong was director for performance management at Raffles.
PATRICK CARROLL has been named as Gogo’s new regional president in Asia Pacific. He joins the in-flight Wi-Fi provider with 30 years’ experience in the aviation industry, including management roles in the Asia Pacific region with Airbus and BAE Systems. He has been awarded an OBE.
RICHARD GREAVES has been appointed general manager of the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, effective 1 March. A Hyatt veteran, Greaves has worked with the company since starting as a trainee in 1984. He most recently served as GM of Grand Hyatt Shanghai and area VP for the Shanghai region.
UWE FAUST has been named as the Jumeirah Group’s new group culinary director. A German national, Faust was previously based in Dubai, having helped to open The Armani Hotel in the Burj Khalifa. He has also been a chef for Shangri-La, Oberoi, Peninsula, Raffles and Mandarin Oriental.
