The Grand Atlantic Hotel, Weston-super-Mare, is making the most of its stunning beachfront location with the launch of a new ‘Boardroom to Beachfront’ delegate package. In partnership with Life’s a Beach – aiming to eliminate single-use plastic pollution from UK beaches, waterways and public spaces – this new initiative offers companies a unique opportunity to combine meetings with a three-hour beach clean-up, turning team-building activities into a meaningful effort to help protect the Weston-super-Mare coastline.
As the largest hotel in Weston-super-Mare, with 72 bedrooms and meeting space for up to 150 delegates, The Grand Atlantic Hotel is a versatile space to hold meetings and events. As part of the new package, delegates will be provided with the necessary equipment to collect and dispose of plastic and litter from the beachfront during their day of meetings, giving them a chance to give back to the local community.
Wayne Entwistle, general manager at The Grand Atlantic Hotel, expressed his excitement about this new venture: “Our team is taking our commitment to sustainability to the next level with the introduction of the Boardroom to Beachfront package. It’s an honour to work alongside our partners to maintain the preservation of the Weston-super-Mare beachfront while collectively making a positive impact on the environment and creating purposeful experiences for our guests.”
Sophie Chappell, from Life’s a Beach, said: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with The Grand Atlantic to put Weston-super-Mare on the map as a sustainable resort. As a team, we’re passionate about sustainable tourism and believe accommodation providers can be pivotal in making a difference to our coastlines.”
The Grand Atlantic was awarded the Bronze Green Tourism Award in 2024 and has been accepted as a Plastic-free Business Champion under Cleaner Coastlines and Plastic Free Weston-Super-Mare for their efforts in reducing single-use plastic, and efforts towards operating more sustainably.
