Thai Vietjet to host ‘Fly Green Charity Golf Tournament’
Under its environmental fund – ‘Fly Green Fund’, Thai Vietjet has announced the introduction of its first charity golf tournament ‘Fly Green Charity Golf Day’. On 7 November 2022, Thai Vietket will host the Fly Green Charity Golf Day in coordination with the airline’s commercial and operational partners, at Alpine Golf & Sports Club, Bangkok. The airline anticipates hosting up to 200 golfers who are enthusiastic about contributing to global environmental protection.
“Fly Green Charity Golf Tournament arose from Thai Vietjet’s strong determination to consistently contribute to the protection of the environment. As an air transportation service provider, Thai Vietjet believes that we are also responsible for the environmental sustainability. We have put an enormous effort to reduce pollution from our daily operation, and have taken many actions to protect the environment, reducing the cause of the global warming issue that humanity has been facing with,” said Woranate Laprabang, chief executive officer of Thai Vietjet.
Since the establishment of the Fly Green Fund, Thai Vietjet has consistently carried out a wide range of environmental projects and activities, including ‘Garbage Hunter’, a project with the purpose of removing garbage from various locations in Thailand, raising environmental awareness among the airline’s staff and public, promoting sustainability, and lowering garbage and waste in the environment.
Fly Green Fund was established in 2021 with the ultimate goal of supporting Seub Nakhasathien Foundation’s environmental activities to continue safeguarding, preserving, and defending the forest and the endangered animals.
Thai Vietjet is among the very first airlines in the world to revolutionise the aviation industry by adopting a wide range of energy-saving policies, including receiving more aircraft with energy-saving innovations to the fleet, such as Airbus A321neo ACF.
