Portuguese airline TAP has confirmed it will launch flights from London City Airport to Lisbon on 29 October.
The new route will complement existing flights from Heathrow and Gatwick.
TAP is the only airline to offer the route between London City, located in the financial heart of the capital, and the cosmopolitan destination of Lisbon, making short breaks and travel for both business and leisure even more convenient for those starting their journey in London.
Flights will operate with Embraer 190 aircraft, with seat capacity for 106 passengers, departing London at 10:20am and 7:50pm, from Monday to Friday. Times departing Lisbon are 7:00am and 4:30pm. On weekends, the operation is daily. On Saturdays, departing London at 10:20am and Lisbon at 7:00am and on Sundays, London at 7:50pm and Lisbon at 4:30pm.
This latest news highlights a continuation of TAP’s reinforced focus on the UK market, and the airline’s efforts to ensure a greater offering for UK passengers, which has already resulted in a 20.3% increase in the number of passengers travelling between London and Lisbon in the first quarter of 2017, year-on-year.
