TAP reconnects the cities of Lisbon and Porto Alegre

TAP resumed flights to Porto Alegre, the capital of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, this Tuesday, 1 April. Flight TP117 left Lisbon at 14:20 and arrived at Porto Alegre-Salgado Filho International Airport at 21:45, thus resuming connections to Porto Alegre after the heavy rains of May 2024.

TAP will connect Lisbon and Porto Alegre with three flights a week, operated with the modern A330-900 neo aircraft, with capacity for 298 passengers.

With the refurbishment of the runway at Salgado Filho Airport, which has been reopened to air traffic since October, flights between Lisbon and Porto Alegre will take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, departing from the Portuguese capital at 13:05 and arriving in Porto Alegre at 20:25. With a total duration of 11h20, this is one of the longest flights in TAP’s network of destinations. In the opposite direction, the TAP flight departs from the capital of the state of Rio Grande do Sul at 21:55, arriving at Lisbon airport at 12:45.

This route strengthens our historical and cultural ties with Portugal and also opens up new opportunities for tourism and international business, in line with the guidelines of our Economic Development Plan. TAP Air Portugal flies directly from Lisbon to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belém, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Fortaleza, Natal, Maceió, Porto Alegre, Recife, Salvador, Florianópolis and Manaus, as well as connecting Porto to São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. In total, there are 13 cities in Brazil (15 routes from Lisbon and Porto) that TAP connects directly to Portugal.
