400,000 people expected at Accor stadium for summer of major headline events. Accor Stadium is famous for delivering some of the biggest and best stadium concert experiences in Australia – more than 180,000 people can be expected for the two Ed Sheeran shows on February 24 and 25 alone. The summer of events will be the biggest back-to-back concert crowds in Australia this year.
Sarah Derry, CEO Accor Pacific, said: “We love giving people special experiences at Accor Stadium. We are thrilled that fans and our loyalty members, along with interstate and international visitors, are able to experience fantastic sporting and entertainment events.”
“Accor Stadium is a great demonstration of our support for tourism, sport and entertainment. We are so proud of this partnership, which is an investment in experiences that bring people together, from world-class concerts, to sporting and family events.”
Following the summer concert season, Accor Stadium will host some of the nation’s biggest sporting events, including five key matches of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. This week, it was announced that the Stadium will host the Matildas’ (the Australian national team) opening game against Republic of Ireland on Thursday 20 July – a game that is expected to draw a capacity crowd. The Stadium will also host the World Cup Final on Sunday 20 August.
Derry said Accor Stadium complements ALL-Accor Live Limitless, Accor’s award-winning loyalty program, and brings many benefits to members, “Importantly, Accor Stadium gives us the opportunity to showcase the very best of our loyalty program ALL – Accor Live Limitless by giving loyalty members world-class experiences beyond our hotels. We offer members exclusive money-can’t-buy-experiences across Accor Stadium’s events program. Together, with our four hotels in Sydney Olympic Park with the Pullman, Novotel and ibis brands, the precinct gives people the best in hospitality and live entertainment.”
Accor opened a Novotel hotel in Sydney’s Darling Harbour 30 years ago and now has more than 400 hotels, resorts and apartments and 18,000 team members in the region. Accor has a long-term commitment to supporting sport, tourism and culture in the Pacific, and partner with the AFLW, AFL, NRL, NSWRL and Netball Australia.
