Steigenberger gets art-savvy
Just as most Steigenberger Hotels & Resorts are starting to reopen, a new cooperation agreement has been concluded between the hotel chain and Kensington Art. Over the coming weeks and months, exclusive works of art promoted by Kensington Art will be displayed in all existing and future hotels operated under the Steigenberger brand.
The plan is to stage around ten to twelve exhibitions per year, each of a duration of eight to twelve weeks. Some of the works on show will be by renowned artists such as Günther Uecker, Heinz Mack, Otto Piene, Markus Lüpertz, Mel Ramos, STALE, Alexander Höller, Jacob Gils, Maxim Wakultschik, Theresa Kallrath. In addition, new discoveries on the art market will be featured alongside regional artists from areas near to the individual hotels. The first exhibitions are scheduled to take place from September 2020.
Each exhibition will reflect the respective hotel and destination. The genres displayed will range from contemporary to experimental painting and excellent art photography. “This exclusive partnership with Steigenberger will create enormous and exclusive coverage for the artists we represent,” said Tina Lüngen, managing partner of Kensington Art.
Hasan Yigit, vice president of brands and innovations at Deutsche Hospitality added: “Our cooperation with Kensington will spark the next phase of the Evolution Steigenberger. We are continuing to embrace art, and this will create scope for experiments and for exciting juxtapositions. Kensington is precisely the right partner in this regard.”
