SpiceJet launches ‘zero change fee’ offer

SpiceJet has introduced a ‘zero change fee’ offer under which passengers can modify dates or names on the ticket, at least seven days prior to the date of departure, without any charges. This offer was applicable to all bookings done between 27 March and 4 April for travel period between 27 March and 30 June, said the airline’s press release.

“The offer thus aims to extend significant flexibility and cost savings to all its passengers in these un-precedented times… Fare difference will be applicable for flight changes and shall be payable by the customer,” the release noted. This new offering allows passengers to modify tickets with one-time waiver of the charges, it said.

Meanwhile, the airline has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Avenue Capital Group, New York for financing, acquisition and sale and lease-back of new planes. Accordingly, the Avenue Capital Group are specialists in the field of aircraft leasing and have identified the new planes to be ordered by SpiceJet as a unique opportunity for investment.

The MoU is in respect of financing, acquisition and sale and lease-back of 50 new planes to be ordered by the carrier.
