Holidaymakers can seek adventure on Asia’s largest and most innovative ship, Spectrum of the Seas, with longer sailings, and more of Southeast Asia to explore in the coming months. Starting 23 February 2023, Spectrum will embark on longer itineraries and explore new shore excursions in Thailand and Vietnam, with Bangkok (Laem Chabang), Nha Trang, and Ho Chi Minh City (Phu My) featuring as core stops on a 9-night cruise. Sailings are open to book on Royal Caribbean’s website.
To complete the Southeast Asia experience will be the opportunity to explore the myriad of cultures, historical sites, and street food in Vietnam and Thailand. Vacationers can look forward to basking under the sun and exploring the coastal resort city of Nha Trang, snorkelling among beautiful coral, or taking a dip in a therapeutic mud bath. The seafood capital of Vietnam is also teeming with fresh fish and shellfish at its restaurants. In Phu My, guests can wander through cultural sites and marvel at the fine carvings and architecture of the historic temples. From Laem Chabang port, they may choose to visit the Pattaya Floating Market, which illustrates the authentic, riverside way of life and brings together produce from the different regions of Thailand. For those seeking a relaxing beach experience, Pattaya Beach or the quieter Jomtien beach are ideal, where adrenaline junkies can also enjoy watersports such as jet skiing and parasailing.
Guests can also look forward to more 3- to 5-night sailings to Thailand (Phuket) and Malaysia (Penang and Port Klang), as well as new itineraries to China and Japan in 2023 and 2024.
“Vietnam and Thailand are hugely popular with our guests from Singapore – their distinctive food, culture and welcoming locals have made the countries a destination of choice for many, and we are thrilled to be able to explore the countries further, so travellers can fully experience the wonders and rich heritage of the Southeast Asian region,” said Angie Stephen, vice president and managing director, Asia-Pacific, Royal Caribbean International. “We continue to work closely with governments in the region to connect our guests with new destinations, adventures, and experiences, and to become a gateway for fly-cruisers from around the globe looking to experience the excitement of Southeast Asia.”
Adventure awaits guests on board Spectrum too, with activities for holidaymakers of all ages. Highlights of the experiences include an array of delectable Asian-inspired dining at Teppanyaki, Sichuan Red, Hot Pot and more; and the luxurious Suite Enclave featuring exclusive amenities including private dining rooms and dedicated lounges. Guests can also look forward to Royal Caribbean’s signature activities at the SeaPlex, the largest indoor activity complex at sea; the skydiving simulator, RipCord by iFly; North Star, an all-glass observation capsule that takes guests 300 feet above sea level; and the FlowRider surf simulator.
