The South African-Thai Chamber of Commerce (SATCC) held its biannual South Africa Ball last 5th October at the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel.
With its Safari Masquerade theme, the ball was a dazzling event characterised by colourful African flair, exceptional cuisine, and exciting entertainment.
Organisers transformed the ballroom into a vibrant tribute to African landscapes, showcasing the diverse fauna of the continent. Guests donned wildlife-inspired masks to get into the spirit of the event aside from their own elegant evening attire.
The event drew in an impressive crowd of business leaders, dignitaries, and expats, who experienced first-hand the vibrance of South Africa’s rich cultural heritage.
SATCC chair Neil van Heerden said of the event: “Tonight was a true testament to the cultural ties between South Africa and Thailand. The evening was not only a celebration of the diversity and richness of South African culture but also an opportunity to strengthen business connections within the vibrant Thai-South African community.”
Where vibrant traditions meet contemporary chic
The evening’s culinary offerings were a true celebration of South African culture, with traditional specialities that included lamb potjiekos bunny chow, beef boerewors, and bobotie, all expertly paired with wines provided by KWV.
The night concluded with partygoers dancing into the early hours as DJ 2C took them on a journey into South Africa’s hip dance and house music scenes.
Likewise, the event made for unforgettable memories from a dazzling night of masquerade, music, and meaningful connections.
