Sofitel Wellington will reopen its doors in October 2017 and welcome back its original opening team, following a temporary hiatus, parent company Accor has said.
The 129-room, 14-storey hotel is aiming to get back to being the New Zealand capital’s favourite destination for business and leisure, leveraging its location between Wellington iconic landmarks The Beehive and the Botanical Gardens.
“We are so excited to reopen our doors and pick up where we left off; offering Wellington locals, Kiwi travellers and tourists alike a place to relax and enjoy in a refined environment with a sophisticated ambience,” General Manager for Sofitel Wellington, Stephen Gould, said.
“It is important for us to resume our reputation as one of the capital’s finest hotels where guests come first. We are excited to once again see the hotel buzzing with activity and we have some great events planned for our welcome back, including stimulating talks, live music and culinary events which should really attract the local and international market,” Gould added.
As part of the this the wine list will be curated by New Zealand’s premiere wine authority John Saker, and menu designed by culinary star Royxeenn Giam..
Sofitel Wellington is the third Sofitel for New Zealand, joining its award-winning sister properties Sofitel Auckland Viaduct Harbour and Sofitel Queenstown Hotel & Spa.
