Tatra Ice Dome is now open for business, right at the start of the Winter Ski season in the Tatras region of Slovakia.
It is one of the most spectacular attractions in the mountains. Visitors from around the world, who have decided to take a day away from the slopes, can enjoy something truly unique and which appeals to all the family. Even the funicular up the mountain to reach the Ice Dome is an unforgettable experience.
The time, dedication and skill to recreate an iconic building such as Westminster Abbey (London, UK) completely from ice, within an igloo-like structure has now become a legendary part of the regions annual portfolio of winter activities. In the past St. Peter’s Basilica (Italy) or the Cathedral De Santiago de Compostela (Spain) have all been inspirations recreated through ice.
Hundreds of thousands of visitors are expected to make the pilgrimage to Hrebienok by funicular to reach this popular attraction. Excitingly, the first visitors have already had the opportunity to walk through the gates of the Tatra Ice Dome.
