Singapore Airlines celebrates 20th anniversary of flights to Ahmedabad
SIA to further increase services to the city
Singapore Airlines (SIA), which commenced operations to Ahmedabad on 28 July 2004, is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its services to the city this year. In addition, SIA will be increasing its operations between Ahmedabad and Singapore from five-times weekly to daily services from 1 September 2024, subject to regulatory approvals.
This increase in services supports the strong demand for air travel to and from Ahmedabad, and offers even more flight options for customers travelling from this Indian city to and beyond Singapore. Details on the flight schedules can be found in Annexe A.
Sy Yen Chen, General Manager India for Singapore Airlines, said: “As we celebrate 20 years of serving the Ahmedabad market, Singapore Airlines is delighted to announce an increase in our operations to the city. This special milestone and the strategic increase in our services to Ahmedabad reaffirms our commitment to the local market as well as our ability to remain nimble as we adjust our capacity to meet the growing demand for air travel.
“With SIA’s increase in capacity from Ahmedabad, we are excited to provide enhanced connectivity, exceptional full-service travel experiences and increased convenience to our customers.”
SIA’s Airbus A350-900, currently serving Ahmedabad five-times weekly, will continue to operate the daily services. The 303-seater aircraft features 40 lie-flat Business Class seats and 263 Economy Class seats.
With effect from 1 September 2024, SIA will operate 94-weekly flights to and from eight Indian cities, namely Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, and Mumbai.
