Silversea Cruises, the world’s leading ultra-luxury and expedition cruise line, has revealed details of the upcoming refurbishment of Silver Endeavour, the world’s most luxurious expedition ship.
After a successful debut season in Antarctica, Silversea’s newest expedition ship will enter the San Giorgio del Porto shipyard in Genova, Italy, on 3 April 2023, with many enhancements that will improve passengers’ aboard and expedition experiences.
Silversea will build six additional upper suites on deck eight and four new suites on deck five in response to increasing demand for the ship’s most spacious accommodations, adding two new suite categories that will immerse travellers even further into the destination.
“The refit of Silver Endeavour will cement her position as the world’s most luxurious exploration ship,” stated Roberto Bruzzone, Silversea’s Senior Vice President of Marine Operations. “With our guests’ cruise experiences in mind, we’re expanding her accommodation options by introducing two new suite categories, enhancing a selection of public settings, and making room for more crew members to retain one of the industry’s highest staff-to-guest ratios.”
Based on the success of her initial Antarctic season, Silver Endeavour will begin welcoming passengers in the Arctic in June 2023, offering deeper connections and greater destination reach than ever before.”
Silversea will construct two Master Suites and four Signature Suites in place of the former helicopter hangar amidships, introducing two new suite types to improve passengers’ accommodation options. Four Classic Veranda Suites will replace the Medical Centre on deck five’s starboard side, which will transfer to the area now held by the Casino on deck four.
Silver Endeavour’s two new Master Suites, located towards the ship’s rear, will feature uninterrupted 270-degree views from their verandas and large living rooms due to panoramic, vaulted glass, providing one of the strongest connections with the destination in ultra-luxury expedition cruising.
The two Master suites will be 108m2 in size and will have spacious living and dining areas, well-proportioned bedrooms with king-sized or twin beds and a walk-in closet, and a spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower and separate whirlpool bath. The living room will include a convertible sofa to accommodate a third guest.

Bringing Guests Further Into The Polar Region
Silver Endeavour’s first season in Antarctica was filled with highlights that showcased her advanced expedition capabilities. Silver Endeavour, for example, became the season’s first cruise ship to cross the Antarctic Circle on 24 November, sailing as far south as Marguerite Bay. The first-ever naming ceremony in the spectacular Lemaire Channel; the Antarctica premiere of long-term Silversea collaborator Steve McCurry’s biopic, McCurry: The Pursuit of Colour; and the meeting of three Silversea ships in the White Continent in December – Silver Endeavour, Silver Wind, and Silver Cloud – were also highlights of her inaugural season.
Following her refurbishment in Genova, Silver Endeavour will make two voyages in the British Isles and Iceland before embarking on her inaugural Arctic season on 3 June, with nine voyages taking her to many of the Polar Region’s most remote destinations, including Pond Inlet, Cape York, and Qaanaaq, among others.
