The Bucket List Company has shared a new study on the sunniest European destinations that holiday goers can reach in less than three hours from London. The study looked at each city’s average rainfall, average sunlight hours, temperature and the average time it takes to fly there. The cities were ranked to determine the top 10 sunniest European countries.
1) Seville, Spain
In first place is Seville in Spain; the Spanish city’s average temperature is 25 degrees, with a vast 2898 hours of sunlight each year! The city is home to three world heritage sites. With only an average of 52 days of precipitation a year, there will be plenty of opportunities to visit the sites in perfect weather throughout the year. Flying to Seville only takes 2 hours and 47 minutes, making it the ideal spot to visit for a quick summer break.
2) Beja, Portugal
The city of Beja in Portugal is not far behind in second place. The relaxed town famed for its stunning historical remains has an average temperature of 23 degrees and an impressive 2726 hours of sunlight each year. The city is considered the hottest in Portugal and has an average of 67 days of rainfall a year. Getting to Beja takes approximately 2 hours and 53 minutes, meaning you don’t have to travel too far to find beautiful weather.
3) Sicily, Italy
In third place is Sicily in Italy, the largest island in the Mediterranean has an average temperature of 24 degrees whilst only having 51 days of precipitation each year. The stunning island known for its beautiful scenery has an average of 2591 hours of sunlight, giving you plenty of time to explore. Getting to Sicily via plane takes an average of 2 hours and 57 minutes.
