Sofitel reinvents the ‘hotel uniform’
This new collection, embodying the highest standards of French savoir-faire, will be rolled out across Sofitel hotels throughout 2026. Comprising 45 pieces, the Vestiaire has been thoughtfully designed to suit all professions and destinations, while expressing an elegant, fluid, and boldly contemporary style — a reflection of the renaissance of Accor’s most quintessentially French luxury brand. Celebrated designer Cordelia de Castellane has artfully designed 45 pieces of uniform for Sofitel, with flowing Parisian cuts and original accessories that represent the height of French luxury and elegance Empowering 25,000 employees to embody the French Zest Sofitel and Cordelia de Castellane have teamed up to create a new closet for all employees at the brand's 120-plus hotels worldwide. With her experience of the most prestigious French luxury houses, Cordelia brings a touch of modernity and sophistication to this collection, while preserving the finest standards of French craftsmanship. Conceived as a celebration of the brand’s hotel teams - 25,000 employees worldwide - and the culture of personalized service inherited from the French art of hospitality, this collaboration embodies the very essence of French elegance. With its flowing, resolutely Parisian cuts, accessories and unostentatious elegance, it breaks with the monotony often associated with traditional uniforms, offering instead a bold and authentic expression of French chic. The partnership marks a key milestone in Sofitel’s ongoing renaissance, as the brand continues its global expansion with 32 new openings planned over the next three years. All of these properties embody the Sofitel spirit, blending French zest with local cultural richness, a commitment symbolized by the “Cultural Link”, the iconic logo creating a bridge between world's cultures. The new Vestiaire features the graphic Sofitel logo in a collection of exclusive prints, transforming Sofitel’s visual signature into a luxurious monogram. A high-end, modular and evolving Vestiaire Designed with flexibility in mind, the Sofitel wardrobe introduces a fresh fashion-forward approach tailored to every role and destination. Under the artistic direction of Cordelia de Castellane, the collection seamlessly blends timeless silhouettes with practical needs, offering a variety of noble fabrics, textures, and color palettes suitable for both city hotels and resorts. Each piece has been crafted using flexible and durable materials — internationally tested across pilot hotels — to meet the everyday needs of hotel staff. The wardrobe adapts to all body types, roles, and climates, ensuring both comfort and elegance. In line with Sofitel’s CSR commitments, each uniform is made from high-quality materials built to withstand daily demands while remaining effortlessly elegant, thanks to refined details and impeccable finishes. This wardrobe also reflects Sofitel’s dedication to responsible luxury. Developed in partnership with Paris Good Fashion, the initiative ensures every step of production respects principles of sustainability, repairability, and recyclability — reducing environmental impact and contributing to more responsible resource management. Cordelia de Castellane, shaping the creative universe of Sofitel Vestiaire The inspiration underpinning this new collection draws directly from the unique creative world of Cordelia de Castellane, a designer whose work is marked by a fusion of tradition and modernity. Her vision of luxury combines timeless elegance with creative audacity, subtly blending classic and contemporary elements. “The Sofitel Vestiaire is much more than a uniform: it's a manifesto. It’s a tribute to our teams, who are the first to embody the renaissance of Sofitel. It reflects the joy of embracing a brand, the pride of being its ambassador, and the desire to wear our values in silk, knit, or cotton. We want this wardrobe to be emotionally resonant, exacting and refined, but also effortlessly chic. That’s why we needed a visionary. This partnership with Cordelia de Castellane is the meeting of two visions of luxury, united by a shared passion for exceptional design," says Maud Bailly, CEO of Sofitel Legend, Sofitel, MGallery and Emblems. "For me, Sofitel is a madeleine de Proust. It brings back childhood memories, iconic hotels, and a very specific vision of French luxury. Sofitel is more than a hotel brand — it’s a way of life, a natural elegance paired with a deep openness to the world. Paris was a major inspiration for this collection — because Paris means effortless chic, cultural richness, precision tailoring, and that uniquely bold creativity. I wanted to imagine a wardrobe that expresses this Parisian sophistication, but also the warmth of hospitality and the pride of representing a house. These are garments designed to last, to move with the body, and to make every team member feel beautiful, free, and proud," adds Cordelia de Castellane.

Accor Group reported record growth in 2024 for its brands Emblems, MGallery, and Sofitel. There are currently 120 Sofitel properties, more than 120 boutique hotels under MGallery, and a growing portfolio of Emblems' bespoke destinations, as well as close to 90 hotels signed in the pipeline to be opened in the coming years. Sofitel, Sofitel Legend, MGallery, and Emblems chief executive Maud Bailly remarked: “2024 has been a milestone year for our brands, marking unprecedented development momentum. This accelerated pipeline reflects the dedication and hard work of our exceptional teams worldwide, strengthening our network's consistency, redefining our brand identity, and elevating our brand promise. Two years ago, this new era was just a vision as we laid the foundations of our new organization and shaped our strategic roadmap. Today, it has become a reality. There is nothing more rewarding than restoring clarity and pride to the brands and its talented people.” The unparalleled growth of Sofitel, Sofitel Legend, MGallery, and Emblems underscores the strength of Accor's strategic vision and brand-driven organization. With a reinforced pipeline, iconic openings, and transformative refurbishments, these four brands are redefining committed luxury hospitality across continents. As they continue to expand into emerging and established markets, their enduring appeal reflects a bold commitment to blending heritage, modernity, and cultural authenticity. Key highlights from 2024 As Sofitel concludes its 60th-anniversary celebrations in 2024, the brand's rebirth translates into a reignited pipeline, with 32 new hotels to be opened over the coming years. After the latest successful opening of Sofitel Cotonou Marina Hotel & Spa in Benin, Sofitel will keep expanding into key destinations such as Egypt, Vietnam, Portugal, Ireland, Mexico and India; Sofitel Legend also sees a growth milestone in 2024, with the signature - in only twelve months - of three new flagships to be opened in Prague, India and in Egypt, in front of the iconic Giza Pyramids. The same fast-paced dynamic is underway among the collection brands: MGallery, the storied boutique-hotel brand, is unfolding a new chapter with 48 hotels in the pipeline, expanding into new territories such as Japan, the Caribbean, and Mexico. Emblems, Accor's new high-end collection brand, makes a remarkable debut with already seven iconic flagship hotels signed in Europe, South-East Asia and North America. Luxury through consistency Two years after reuniting Sofitel, Sofitel Legend, MGallery and Emblems under the leadership of Maud Bailly, these flagship brands of Accor's luxury and lifestyle division are reaping the rewards of a comprehensive transformation. This journey has consisted into restoring clarity and consistency to each brand identity and rejuvenating the existing hotel network. With major refurbishments underway like Sofitel New York and Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile set for completion by fall 2025, 26 percent of the Sofitel network is currently being renovated. Notable renovations, such as Sofitel Athens, Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit and the iconic Sofitel Sydney Wentworth have already been met with success. Meanwhile, eight percent of the MGallery Collection portfolio is under renovation, with projects like Manly Pacific in Australia, which just won Prix de Versailles, or Grand Hôtel Roi Renée Aix-en-Provence in France leading the way. The global scale of transformation has enabled to launch a virtuous dynamic of renovation. Grand openings At the same time, each of the nine openings in 2024 has been a unique moment, tailor-made to reflect the local culture and the hotels' aspirations. These magical experiences are constantly raising the standards and impact, such as the inauguration of Sofitel Cotonou Marina Hotel & Spa in the presence of the Benin Government last 12th December. This momentum is matched by a surge in development, with over 20 hotels signed in 2024, confirming the unprecedented traction of development of the four brands. Efforts are focused on high-potential markets like Europe, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Egypt, as well as resort destinations in the Caribbean and Mediterranean. Emerging markets such as Mexico and India are also seeing significant investment, driven by the brands' increasing desirability. According to Xavier Grange, chief development officer for Sofitel, Sofitel Legend, MGaller, and Emblems: “We've seen leads triple since 2023, reflecting a strong investment trend in our hard and collection luxury brands. By enhancing brand desirability, we've bolstered our existing Sofitel and MGallery portfolios and expanded into key markets and resort destinations.” The rise of branded residences further highlights the brands' recognition. Landmark projects include Sofitel Residences Downtown Dubai, set to open in 2026, and Sofitel Sapa Hotel & Branded Residences in Vietnam, featuring over 400 units. This model also resonates with collection brands, as seen in the Abraj Omar Hotel & Residences Makkah – MGallery Collection in Saudi Arabia.

Sofitel Sydney Wentworth reveals its post-renovation look
The five-star Sofitel Sydney Wentworth unveils its extensive $70 million (AUD) refurbishment with final completion set for November. Central to the hotel's refurbishment vision was reigniting the '60s jet-set glamour that characterised its original charm when Qantas opened it as Australia's premier international five-star hotel, attracting royals, movie stars, and dignitaries. The aim was to modernise this golden era for the 21st century. The refurbishment encompassed 436 guest rooms and suites, the Sofitel Club Millésime, health and wellness centre, public spaces including the grand entrance lobby, and state-of-the-art conference and event spaces. A new place to dine and unwind Pivotal to the transformation is Sofitel Sydney Wentworth's partnership with prominent Sydney hospitality group House Made Hospitality. They have created an exceptional multi-venue drinking and dining precinct within the luxury hotel, with two restaurants: tilda and Delta Rue; two bars: bar tilda and Wentworth Bar; and one of Sydney's largest outdoor terrace bars. With much of the refurbishment led by architecture and interior design firm FK, the hotel embodies the essence of 'Modern Heritage'. The building was originally designed in a post-war minimalist style, opening in 1966 with a modernist interior, and was the largest brick structure in the southern hemisphere. Enabling the building to reflect the spirit of its time, the design seeks to capture the essence of this modernist era through a contemporary lens, celebrating the building's unique heritage and re-igniting the hotel's glamourous past. The art of comfort Subtle, nostalgic detailing is combined with modern materiality, soft sculptural forms and a layering of rich materials in each of the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth’s rooms and suites. Hotel guests can choose from the pillow menu before relaxing into their Sofitel MyBed at night and begin their day with a Nespresso from the in-room machine. Guests can also boost their fitness and recharge with the Wellness Bag, a portable travel gym designed to enhance strength and flexibility, complete with a roller, yoga mat, resistance bands, handles, and ankle straps. Likewise, they can also enjoy revamped in-room dining by House Made Hospitality which offers guests an exciting opportunity to experience exceptional cuisine in the comfort of their room.
