Recently ranked as the fifth-best resort in Asia by Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards, the resort is renowned for its unique approach to seasonal celebrations. This year, the festivities are set against the picturesque backdrop of Emerald Bay, offering guests a blend of renewal and relaxation. The celebration is anchored by Lichun, the traditional start of spring on 4 February, and coincides with Valentine’s Day. Guests can enjoy a variety of experiences, including dining by Michelin Collector Chef Olivier Elzer, who uses early spring ingredients to create a menu that symbolises renewal. JW Marriott makes its Japan debut with the opening of the JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo

Marriott Bonvoy brand JW Marriott announced the highly anticipated opening of JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo on Thursday, 23rd October.  The JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo is located in the heart of Takanawa Gateway City, the city’s newest urban destination billed as the city of the future.  Bruce Rohr, JW Marriott’s vice-president and global brand leader, pointed out that the new hotel represents a milestone opening in the brand’s continued global expansion where a warm approach to luxury meets world-class hospitality.  Rohr said: “With the launch of this hotel, we will  introduce the brand’s new Mindful Rooms & Suites concept in Asia, reaffirming our commitment to holistic well-being. This opening also  proudly extends the brand’s legacy in Japan, offering guests experiences that are both mindful and rooted in the brand’s heritage. Inspired by the elevation and views of Gotenyama, the hotel invites guests to experience a new perspective: a journey upward through  spaces designed to inspire tranquility and foster meaningful moments of togetherness.” Inspired design in an excellent location With an art and design narrative inspired by Zen philosophy and the natural beauty of Takanawa, the hotel pairs elegance with excellent connectivity and seamless access to the heart of Tokyo and beyond.  Conveniently located above the new Takanawa Gateway Station, Tokyo Haneda Airport is about 20 minutes away.  The property is also within walking distance to Shinagawa Station, which is planned to serve as the terminus for the Chuo Shinkansen connecting Tokyo with other major cities in Japan including Nagoya  and Osaka. Crafted by the internationally acclaimed design studio Yabu Pushelberg, the design narrative of JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo is envisioned as a timeless sanctuary of balance and mindfulness.  At the entrance on the ground floor, there is an installation featuring Zen rocks and a mirrored Mount Fuji, an iconic symbol of Japan once visible from Takanawa, further reflects the spirit of harmony, well-being, and timelessness woven throughout the hotel. On the 30th floor, the reception area greets guests with sweeping views inspired by the historical Tokyo Bay horizon and the scenic Gotenyama Hill.  These vistas are complemented by traditional Kamakura-bori inspired artworks that capture dramatic cloudscapes in muted tones.  Photographic art by Sho Makishima, employing soft colors and delicate light trails, depicts the ever-changing beauty of nature and serves as a poetic metaphor for the Takanawa skyline and Tokyo Bay. At the heart of the Lobby Lounge is the Tree House; a luminous centerpiece where tree leaves are transformed into glass artworks.  Created in collaboration with acclaimed Czech glassmaker Lasvit, this installation  radiantly expresses the artistry of nature within the hotel’s serene environment. Contemporary comfort meets gracious tradition  The 200 stylishly appointed guest rooms and suites at JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo feature modern Japanese interiors crafted with serene tones and natural materials inspired by the earthy textures of a garden.  Floor-to-ceiling windows frame sweeping Tokyo city views, creating spaces that inspire  mindfulness, stillness, and serenity.  Elegant bathrooms are thoughtfully curated with indulgent, sustainable amenities.  The hotel will also debut the brand’s signature Mindful Rooms and Suites, thoughtfully designed spaces for travelers seeking a more intentional and personalized stay.  Each Mindful Room is a calming sanctuary for the senses, and these accommodations inspire rest, reflection, and well-being.  As the first JW Marriott  hotel in Asia to feature this innovative accommodation offering, the Mindful Rooms and Suites are set to launch in December 2025.

JW Marriott Cam Ranh Bay Resort & Spa features 203 elegantly designed guest rooms and private villas, each thoughtfully curated to inspire restoration and a deep sense of connection. Interiors reflect the coastal beauty of Cam Ranh with organic tones, natural materials, and refined wooden accents, including lattice partitions that echo traditional Vietnamese design.  Among the 27 one- to four-bedroom villas, ten of which are set directly on the beachfront, select accommodations are adorned with ethnic textiles, adding a subtle cultural richness to their serene, light-filled spaces.  Each features a private infinity pool and spacious outdoor terrace for elevated relaxation.

JW Marriott Singapore South Beach announces the appointment of Karl Hudson as General Manager. Having overseen the opening of more than 80 hotels during his career with Marriott International, Hudson brings global leadership expertise with strategic vision and operational rigour to one of Singapore’s most design-forward hotels. Hudson, who most recently served as Marriott International’s Regional Vice President for Japan & Guam, joins at a pivotal time for the luxury hotel as it continues to strengthen its positioning as both a lifestyle hub and a premier business destination in three key areas — M.I.C.E excellence, destination dining, and luxury lifestyle positioning within Marina Bay. A fresh vision for JW Marriott Singapore South Beach Born in England and raised in New Zealand, Hudson’s journey into hospitality was anything but conventional. First joining Marriott International in 1996, he has risen through the ranks, consistently being tapped for new opportunities thanks to his instinct for people and his proven record of leadership. “My focus is on preserving and amplifying what makes this hotel unique,” Hudson says. “Its energy, creativity, and sense of place give it character. Hudson will steer the hotel’s next phase of growth while staying true to its lifestyle identity and design DNA. “My focus is on strengthening the hotel’s operations and delivering exceptional experiences across both business and lifestyle segments,” he says. For Hudson, this comes back to connection: “Data and technology help us create seamless journeys, but true luxury lies in the ability to understand, adapt, and connect with each guest as an individual.” Hudson views luxury as deeply personal, shaped as much by how guests feel as by the services on offer. “For some, luxury is tradition and refinement. For others, it’s about surprise and delight. At JW Marriott Singapore South Beach, we aim to be approachable yet elevated, expressive yet grounded — and always rooted in genuine hospitality,” he explains. Menu composition reflects the distinctive flavor, rhythm, and rituals rooted in place through both local Vietnamese cuisine and international appeal.  Guests enjoy an array of dining experiences across seven different interpretations of Nature, that showcase the region's abundant seafood and fresh ingredients, expertly prepared by world-class culinary teams.  Crafted Connections, on the other hand, bridge generations through culture, care, and creativity, embodying the spirit of togetherness in meaningful ways.  This is a resort designed for connection; with each other, with nature and with the soul of Vietnam.  Families, friends, and curious travellers are invited to discover local crafts, share in stories, and create memories that weave together generations and cultures, fostering bonds that transcend time and place through shared experiences and authentic cultural immersion. The fiery flavours of the Land of Abundance The Sichuan region, often referred to as the ‘Land of Abundance’, is famed for its layered flavors, liberal use of chilli, garlic, and the unmistakable tingle of Sichuan peppercorns.  The menu features a wide array of dishes that reflect the signature boldness of Sichuan cuisine while offering depth, balance, and variety.  Among the appetisers, the Chengdu-style prawns are a standout, stir-fried with burnt chilli and scallions to deliver a perfect combination of heat and umami.  The spicy mala mushrooms are a vegetarian highlight, offering the numbing, peppery sensation that defines the region’s iconic ‘mala’ flavor profile.  The crispy tofu with Shaoxing wine offers delicate crunch balanced by the savory richness of aged Chinese rice wine, while the Chengdu-style lamb with cumin and coriander captures the earthy undertones of western China’s Muslim culinary influences. The soup course includes the deeply comforting Mala Xiaomian-style Noodle Soup, characterised by a spicy, numbing broth and soft, hand-pulled noodles or a Spicy Seafood Peppercorn Soup, which brings together shellfish and aromatics in a broth that is both fiery and fragrant, making for a bold yet balanced beginning to the meal. Main courses feature both classics and regional favourites, including the Wok-Fried pork Belly With Mountain Chilli And Sichuan Sauce is a rich, robust dish with layers of caramelised fat and spice, while the Sichuan Hot Pot Chicken offers a dry version of the classic hot pot: fiery, aromatic, and intensely flavourful.  The Mala Xiang Guo, a dry stir-fried hotpot medley, showcases a colourful mix of proteins and vegetables tossed in aromatic oils and spices.  Vegetarian diners will appreciate the Stir-Fried Tofu And Long Eggplant with Sichuan pepper and garlic sauce, which offers both heat and depth.  The Dan Dan noodles, a dish symbolic of Sichuan street food culture, combine spicy minced meat with sesame, soy, and vinegar for a complex, tangy finish.  To accompany the mains, the Sichuan-Style Fried Rice with edamame and burnt chilli delivers a smoky, satisfying flavour with each bite. The experience concludes on a sweet note with inventive desserts inspired by regional and Asian elements.  The Mango Pudding Rice With Mango Ice Cream offers a light and tropical ending, while the Darsan With Jaggery-Sesame Gelato merges the crisp texture of fried noodles with the nutty sweetness of sesame and the warmth of jaggery, creating a dessert that bridges tradition and innovation.

JW Marriott Auckland opens post transformation in New Zealand

Marking the brand’s first hotel in the city, JW Marriott Auckland blends holistic well-being with the spirit of Auckland, set against the backdrop of the country’s breathtaking landscapes Pictured (left to right): JW Marriott Auckland Executive Suite, Executive Lounge, Indoor Swimming Pool JW Marriott, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of over 30 extraordinary hotel brands, today unveiled the all-new JW Marriott Auckland, marking the brand’s debut in Aotearoa, New Zealand after an extensive multi-million-dollar transformation. Located in the vibrant heart of downtown Auckland, this luxurious urban retreat invites guests to restore and renew, with thoughtful touches that reflect both local culture and the brand’s commitment to holistic well-being. JW Marriott Auckland was designed by renowned Singaporean architecture firm O37 with Founder and Creative Director, Leonard Lee at the helm. The hotel’s design draws deeply from the rich tapestry of New Zealand’s art, culture, and natural beauty, as seen from its distinctive vantage point in Auckland’s city center. Intentionally curated, the hotel design fosters a profound connection to the locale, seamlessly blending a harmonious aesthetic through a refined balance of complementary contrasts inspired by Aotearoa New Zealand’s weather. Reflecting the shifting beauty of each season, the design weaves together contrasting textures - raw and polished, rough and smooth. This vision comes to life in ‘Watersplash’, a bespoke sculptural hand-blown chandelier by Lasvit, inspired by the flowing rivers and lakes of New Zealand, and crafted to cast reflections of water on the ceiling among many other touchpoints throughout the hotel. “JW Marriott embraces the belief that a connection to the natural environment is an important part of nourishing one’s soul. JW Marriott Auckland embodies the brand’s commitment to providing a haven where guests can focus on feeling whole in mind, body, and spirit,” says Jason Nuell, Area Vice President - Australia, New Zealand and Pacific, Marriott International. “JW Marriott Auckland is a destination where both locals and international travelers can experience a blend of modern luxury and exceptional hospitality in the heart of the city to pause, recharge, and reconnect.” Generously spaced, the hotel boasts 271 stylishly appointed guest rooms and 15 suites. Inspired by the beauty of Auckland’s landscape, the color palette in each suite subtly shifts, inspired by its natural surroundings - from deep greens and earthy tones of the Waitākere Ranges, to the sun-bleached sandstone and driftwood tones of the Waitematā Harbour, and the rich charcoals and softened rusts of the city’s volcanic landscape. Reflecting nature’s imperfections, guests will discover a deliberate asymmetry throughout the rooms seen in the intentional artwork placements and with no two bedside tables being the same. Spanning 133 square meters with sweeping views of the city skyline, the crown jewel of the hotel is the Presidential Suite. Additionally, the hotel boasts an Executive Suite, a 79-square-meter Ambassador Suite with open-plan living, and the Governor Suite - a two-bedroom apartment, offering a serene 171-square-meter sanctuary with a fully equipped gourmet kitchen. The guestroom artwork, meticulously crafted by Lancelot in 1886, is part of the historical collection from the Hulton archive and beautifully depicts an early illustration of Auckland Harbour. The hotel’s suites provide a mindful approach to the in-room offerings, featuring the latest Technogym fitness accessories and equipment. The in-suite experience also features an elevated minibar offering - Refuel Bar - a menu of healthy post-workout shakes, snacks, and refreshments, including kombucha, all designed to nurture guests’ physical well-being. All guest rooms come complete with yoga mats and risers, enhanced by an in-room program of wellness and workout routines. To further enhance guests’ well-being, performance-boosting room features promote rest and rejuvenation, such as meditation playlists and eco-friendly products from Aromatherapy Associates.  An Urban Oasis  JW Marriott Auckland is the ultimate destination for wellness, offering a range of holistic and cutting-edge experiences that support mental and physical well-being. This serene sanctuary, designed to calm and rejuvenate, features a Wellness Center spanning 220 square meters and includes a 14-meter-long heated indoor pool with panoramic harbor views and views of the center of Auckland. Guests can enjoy the contrasting wellness benefits of hot and cold recovery treatments, including a cold plunge pool, a dry-heat sauna, and a steam chamber. The state-of-the-art fitness center, exclusively available to guests, features innovative Technogym equipment, allowing guests to customize their workouts. Personal training sessions are available upon request. JW Marriott Auckland’s Wellness Concierge connects with guests before arrival to identify the purpose of their stay and set meaningful intentions. Upon arrival, the Wellness Concierge is on hand to offer tailored guidance, ensuring a truly enriching and restorative experience throughout their time at the hotel. In early 2026, the hotel plans to launch a series of holistic wellness experiences, including sound healing, designed to relax the senses. A Culinary Escape  The hotel’s elegant lobby bar, Forum, offers barista-crafted coffee and small bites from local artisan bakehouse, Wild Wheat, available throughout the day. By night, Forum transforms into the perfect backdrop as a refined yet welcoming bar. Inspired by the natural beauty of the Waitakere Ranges, the cocktails at JW Marriott Auckland offer a unique taste of the landscape, with smoked woodchips infusing a distinct, earthy flavor that captures the essence of the surrounding mountains. JW Marriott Auckland’s signature restaurant, Trivet, is designed with the multicultural essence of Aotearoa New Zealand at the forefront. With Head Chef Wallace Mua at the helm, guests will experience a curated menu of the country’s finest produce. Inspired by the unique flavors and techniques of Polynesian cuisine around the world, its menu honors the heritage and vibrancy of the country’s dining scene with a sharing-style menu. In September, the hotel plans to launch a contemporary teppan house celebrating impressive Japanese-inspired dishes. Connection with nature is a signature element of the JW Marriott experience. Upon entering the hotel, guests are immediately greeted by a stunning moss wall in the foyer, bringing the lush, organic spirit of the garden indoors. This living feature, woven into the hotel's design, is not only a visual statement but also embodies the hotel’s commitment to sustainability and the celebration of nature. Up above, the hotel’s rooftop is home to the brand’s signature JW Garden, which features an herb garden and rescue bee hives. This rooftop oasis produces a wide variety of fresh herbs, edible flowers, and plants, which are used throughout the hotel’s venues, Forum and Trivet. Meeting & Events  Located in Auckland’s central business district and just a short walk to the city’s major transport terminals and Commercial Bay shopping center, JW Marriott Auckland presents an exceptional array of venues for events, conferences, and meetings. With six flexible function spaces, the hotel seamlessly accommodates both large-scale gatherings and more intimate meetings.   The JW Ballroom is the hotel’s largest meeting space, a pillarless ballroom perfect for a range of event layouts and divisible into thirds, featuring a 7-meter-wide LED screen, complemented by two additional 4-meter wide high-definition screens. With the capacity to accommodate up to 220 guests in a banquet style, it is perfect for lavish dinners or large-scale events. The newly designed venues showcase enhanced soundproofing and acoustics, creating an environment tailored to boost productivity. JW Marriott Auckland’s meeting spaces are designed with built-in high-tech sound and lighting.   "I am honored to bring the JW Marriott vision of luxury and well-being to life in this vibrant city.
