G-DRAGON’s Ubermensch tour cements Vietnam’s position as a world-class venue for mega-events
Vietnam makes waves yet again where mega-events are concerned as it’s one of the stops on South Korean rapper / pop icon G-DRAGON’s 2025 world tour. The Southeast Asian nation’s inclusion in the Übermensch tour itinerary is no coincidence: it is the result of the consistent efforts of 8Wonder, one of the country’s few internationally recognized music festival brands. In just three years, 8Wonder built up its world-class reputation by meeting the demanding standards of global superstars such as Charlie Puth, Maroon 5, Imagine Dragons, J Balvin, and DJ Snake. From stage design and sound quality to audience experience, each edition has raised the bar and turned Vietnam into a true global celebration where music, travel, and emotion come together. Let us entertain you The success of G-DRAGON’s sortie in Vietnam goes far beyond record ticket sales; rather, it represents the nation’s growing presence on the global entertainment map. This year's show will take place at 8Wonder Ocean City – Vinhomes Ocean Park 3, a 300-hectare complex often described as a lively "seaside city" within Hanoi. The venue offers everything visitors could want, from a saltwater lagoon and white sandy beaches to the vibrant Grand World commercial boulevard, stylish cafés, luxury hotels, and lively entertainment areas. After an unforgettable night of music, concertgoers can continue to enjoy the energy of the event without having to travel far. The concert is not just one of the biggest music events of the year, but also marks a new chapter in Vietnam's journey toward confidence, creativity, and global recognition in the live entertainment world. Thanks to 8Wornder’s expertise in events handling, Vietnam is now officially part of the world tour circuit of major music legends and is ready to set new records in the years ahead. Beyond its numbers, the concert sends a powerful message about a young, dynamic, and inspiring Vietnam. Hanoi is no longer just a destination for local fans, but it is evolving into a must-visit city for international audiences seeking memorable music experiences in Asia. A feather in the cap for Vingroup Likewise, the event reaffirms Vingroup's pioneering role in making Vietnam a new destination for music lovers across the region. With strong investments in infrastructure and world-class standards, Vingroup continues to promote Vietnam's image through global brands. From the mega-urban Ocean City complex to the award-winning Vinpearl resort chain, every project reflects a vision of a modern, creative Vietnam that is open to the future. With long-term vision and consistent investment, every Vingroup event, especially 8Wonder, goes beyond world-class entertainment. Each one becomes a cultural milestone that brings Vietnam closer to the international community, showcasing a vibrant, energetic, and globally connected nation that is ready to take its place on the world stage.
Vietnam takes a shot at becoming Asia’s next medical tourism centre
With medical tourism rapidly becoming a prime growth sector in the global tourism industry, it isn't surprising that Vietnam is keen on stepping up its game to boost its profile as a potential hub. On 4th September, at ITE HCMC 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City, several Vietnamese government agencies signed a landmark agreement geared towards making medical tourism a priority area for development, especially in light of the fact that Vietnamese hospitals and medical professionals are developing a reputation as being amongst the best within Southeast Asia, rivalling their counterparts in Singapore and Thailand. But what exactly can Vietnam offer the global tourism market, and what is its unique selling point with which to draw patients away from the competition? This is what we at Travel Daily Media seek to discover in today's feature. Vietnamese officials gathered in Ho Chi Minh City last month to sign an understanding to drive the country's medical tourism sector Vietnamese medical tourism in the numbers In an article published by industry analyst Gil Neo in July of this year on the Invest in Vietnam site, it was noted that the Vietnamese medical tourism market is projected to reach a valuation of more than US$2.5 billion by the end of 2025. Neo likewise pointed out that the sector will be growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 17.8 percent anticipated through 2033. Such development is being driven by several economic trends and social demographics. To date, these include the growth of the global middle class which has enabled more people to travel for treatment either domestically or overseas; an ageing population in various parts of the globe; increased awareness regarding available healthcare options, as well as geopolitical shifts that are forcing people to seek aid or treatment abroad. Keeping all these factors in mind, the Vietnamese healthcare sector has been actively working on its infrastructure and manpower components to meet the surging demand. World-class care in the heart of Indochina It should be noted at this point that major urban centres like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City offer world-class medical centres with a diverse and professionally handled range of treatments. Indeed, it is no longer surprising to hear that western patients are making their way to these cities for cardiological treatment, orthopaedic surgery, and even the resolution of issues regarding fertility and reproduction. Vietnam is also giving its neighbours a run for their money in terms of cosmetic surgery and dentistry, offering procedures handled with the same level of care and skill at a fraction of the cost. The country is also known for other modalities rooted in the practice of both traditional healing and the precepts of traditional oriental medicine, on top of wellness measures passed on through generations. Technology is also boosting the growth of such hospitals throughout the country thanks to the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the diagnostic process and robotics in the fields of surgery and critical care, on top of expanding overall patient capacity and comfort in individual institutions. It must also be stated here that travel agents throughout Vietnam are teaming up with major hospitals to develop tour packages that combine treatment, accommodation, and tourism experiences for patients and any friends or family members accompanying them. But issues need to be addressed This is not to say that it's smooth sailing for the Vietnamese medical tourism sector from this point on. Far from it: the sector needs to jump over numerous hurdles in order to boost both overall competence and global recognition. The language barrier is what we see first and foremost: in our recent coverage of ITE HCMC, the fact that 90 percent of the signage onsite and even the discussions on the agenda were in Vietnamese proved a barrier to many members of the media...and if this posed a challenge to us, what more for overseas patients coming into the country? Second: Vietnam's medical tourism sector is not as prominent or as visible as that if its closest neighbour Thailand as marketing for the sector has yet to hit the stride of its counterparts luxury, leisure, and even golf tourism. Third: to date, even after the signing last month, Vietnam still has to come up with relevant policies and standards to regulate its medical tourism sector. This glaring lack of regulatory measures, specifically quality assurance standards, is a major stumbling block for the sector. Indeed, in an op-ed for The Investor in 2024 and featured on Vietnam Briefing earlier this year, Vietnamese real estate expert Hoang Nguyen declared: “The absence of an overall policy orientation has led to spontaneous and scattered development of health care tourism. Many providers have also shown a lack of professionalism and abused this type of service for their own interests." What could be done For now, we see three ways by which the growth of the Vietnamese medical tourism sector could be pushed further. Regulation is the biggest matter to address: standards need to be put in place to ensure that the standard of care is the same in any part of the country. Language competencies need to be improved across the board from medical professionals to support staff to ensure proper communication with patients from abroad in order to allay any concerns they may have. Lastly: a comprehensive global marketing programme needs to be developed and implemented as this will make the world more aware of the excellence of Vietnam's medical services. Should the country be able to pull these off, then we will not be surprised to see it rise to the top of the game delivering exceptional medical care within its borders and beyond.

The wellness-focused resort, situated near the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ha Long Bay, will feature 216 rooms and villas, complemented by amenities such as public mineral baths, sauna rooms, private onsens, and a holistic spa, promising a truly unique wellness experience. Vietnam currently holds Hilton’s third-largest portfolio in South East Asia with 21 trading hotels. With the addition of the five newly-signed properties, Hilton is set to double its trading supply in Vietnam, growing its development pipeline from 16 to 21, reinforcing its position as a key market in Hilton’s growth trajectory in the region. “Expanding our existing partnership with Sun Group to bring more properties and new brands to Vietnam reaffirms the confidence owners place in Hilton’s world-class brands and robust commercial engine,” said Alan Watts, president, Asia Pacific, Hilton. “With these new properties, we are now on track to double our presence in Vietnam, with a footprint that stretches from Quang Hanh in the north to Phu Quoc in the south. This signing reflects our ongoing commitment to the market and its importance as a strategic growth driver for our expansion across Asia Pacific.” Conrad Hotels & Resorts, LXR Hotels & Resorts Hilton Hotels & Resorts, and DoubleTree by Hilton hotels participate in Hilton Honors, the award-winning guest loyalty program for Hilton’s 25 distinct hotel brands.

Savills Hotels’ Meet the Experts session reveals trends shaping the Vietnamese hospitality and real estate industries
Savills Hotels and WeHub successfully hosted the 2025 run of Meet The Experts (MTE), the region’s largest annual real estate and hospitality conference, on 1st October in Hanoi, Vietnam. The event aims to enhance networking, create collaboration opportunities, and provide valuable insights for developers, hotel owners, operators, and industry professionals. Throughout the course of this year's event, experts pointed out several key trends that are driving the growth of Vietnam's hospitality and real estate sectors. Savills Hotels senior director in Southeast Asia Mauro Gasparotti remarked at the conference: “Vietnam is gradually establishing itself as one of the preferred destinations for Asian travellers. Tourism and accommodation offerings are becoming increasingly diverse, with the entry of new hotel brands across multiple segments catering to different demand groups." Sharing valuable insights In the real estate-focused sessions, representatives from Savills, Indochina Capital, MIK Group Vietnam, GroupGSA, Club Med, The Ascott Limited, and Kusto Home Vietnam exchanged insights on the essential elements of luxury projects and shared experiences in integrated development. Speakers also evaluated the outlook of branded residences in Viet Nam, particularly in Ha Noi and HCMC, and emphasised the critical role of branding throughout project development and operations. The discussion further underlined the importance of sustainability, aiming to deliver holistic experiences in living spaces and service quality. Representatives from VinaCapital and Savills Hotels were on hand to share macroeconomic perspectives, essentially presenting an overview of Vietnam’s hospitality sector, and key movements in the Branded Residences market. In addition, senior speakers from The Ascott Limited, Dewan Architects + Engineers, Minor Hotels, and Haskoning discussed emerging models such as experience-led social living concepts, the application of AI in design, and creating value through dining, wellness, and premium experiences. These experts offered a closer look at opportunities, risks, and global case studies of reclamation projects. Panellists also noted the growing role of foreign investors in reshaping Vietnam’s real estate and hospitality landscape. Finally, they emphasised that for the market to grow sustainably, it is vital to build strategic partnerships and enhance the regulatory framework to strengthen investor confidence. Working to achieve an ambitious goal Vietnam set itself an ambitious 2025 target of welcoming 25 million international visitors, a 40 percent growth compared to 2024. Currently, the country continues to actively review and relax visa policies, expand international flight routes, upgrade tourism infrastructure, and strengthen destination marketing, encouraging competitiveness against regional peers. It should also be noted that Vietnam saw a strong rebound in international arrivals and is among the fastest-growing markets in Southeast Asia. Previously, the hospitality market faced a risk of oversupply in certain destinations, and from 2015 to 2019, new supply increased by 20 percent CAGR, outpacing many regional markets. However, post-pandemic, new annual supply growth slowed significantly to only five percent. These developments prompted Gasparotti to remark: "Future supply will remain concentrated in coastal destinations, with Da Nang and Phu Quoc leading in room count. Hanoi continues to see growth in the upscale and luxury segments, mainly driven by branded international hotels. Meanwhile, HCMC faces a shortage of new projects, creating opportunities for existing hotels, especially in the upper-upscale and international-branded segment, to sustain performance growth.” Relevant trends seen in 2025 During the panel on Viet Nam’s hospitality market, senior representatives from Accor, BIM Group, Masterise Group, T&T Hospitality, Sun Group, and Radisson Hotel Group discussed hotel operations in Viet Nam, the momentum of different sectors, and future opportunities. Speakers also pointed out the ongoing rise of integrated mixed-use projects near major cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, aimed at sustaining investor interest. These developments often combine hotels, resorts, convention centres, retail, and leisure facilities to create multifunctional ecosystems that appeal to both international and domestic markets. In addition to mixed-use projects, the all-inclusive resort model is also gaining momentum. This particular model's key advantages include access to large land banks, improved connectivity, and growing traveller demand for “all-in-one” experiences.
