A new silhouette graced the Australian waters as the sun rose over Darwin last Tuesday. The Seabourn Pursuit, Seabourn’s latest jewel in its fleet of ultra-luxury expedition vessels, made its grand entrance into Darwin. This marked the beginning of an eagerly awaited inaugural season in the Kimberley region—a season that promises to be nothing short of extraordinary.
On June 12th, the Seabourn Pursuit will embark on the first of six 10-day voyages, navigating the waters between Darwin and Broome. These voyages are not just trips but full-fledged expeditions into one of the planet’s most secluded corners. The Kimberley in Western Australia is a land of surreal beauty, where the landscapes seem to defy reality, wildlife thrives in abundance, and Aboriginal culture is richly woven into the fabric of the land.
The Seabourn Pursuit, with its 132-suite capacity, offers an intimate yet grandiose passage through this ancient land. Guests will be privy to some of the most breathtaking vistas as the ship glides past towering cliffs and deep gorges, all while being guided by a world-class expedition team.
In a move that honours the deep cultural roots of the Kimberley, Seabourn has made history by appointing the Wunambal Gaambera Traditional Owners as godparents of the Seabourn Pursuit. This is a testament to the line’s commitment to cultural preservation and support. Through donations and contributions of art supplies, Seabourn is aiding in the development of a self-sustaining arts industry for the Wunambal Gaambera people.
The journey through the Kimberley is an immersive experience that connects guests with the region’s wildlife, nature, culture, and history.

- King George Falls: Marvel at the highest twin falls in Western Australia and embark on Zodiac rides through rivers and gorges adorned with geological wonders.
- Helicopter Tours: Gain a bird’s eye view of the Hunter River and the Kimberley, culminating in the majestic triple falls of Mitchell Plateau on select sailings.
