SalamAir, Oman’s new budget airline, has launched its first international destination.
The double daily service to Dubai will operate from Muscat International Airport to Dubai World Central (DWC) before moving to Dubai International Airport (DXB) on March 26.
The airline has revealed plans to launch flights to Saudi Arabia and Pakistan soon.
SalamAir said in a statement that the new Dubai service was made possible by the arrival of the second A320 to its fleet. The low-cost carrier (LCC) will also introduce a third daily flight to Salalah, it said.
Dubai Airports welcomed SalamAir’s inaugural flight from Muscat to DWC with a traditional water salute.
SalamAir’s arrival boosts the number of passenger carriers operating at DWC to 28.
