Royal Jordanian continues its environmental sustainability efforts by planting 1,000 trees in the Azraq Wetland Reserve on Earth Day
Royal Jordanian Airlines, in cooperation with the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature, planted 1,000 trees in the Azraq Wetland Reserve on the occasion of Earth Day as part of Royal Jordanian’s sustainability strategy and community initiatives implemented throughout the year.
This environmental initiative aims to preserve biodiversity, increase green spaces in Jordan, address climate change challenges, reduce carbon emissions, and support national efforts to preserve the environment, the sustainability of nature reserves and local communities, all of which are in line with Royal Jordanian’s social responsibility and sustainability policies. A number of Royal Jordanian volunteers participated in this campaign by planting trees that are suitable for the nature of the Azraq Reserve.
Royal Jordanian is also committed to conducting all its operations in a sustainable and responsible manner to reduce its environmental footprint and comply with all global laws to reduce the impact of air operations on the environment. The airline continues its efforts to integrate environmental sustainability into its plans and strategy through a process of renewing the entire fleet and introducing environmentally friendly aircraft, improving fuel efficiency, reducing noise and waste, and using hazardous materials, in addition to raising awareness and enhancing employee training in this field.
The Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature, for its part, affirms its commitment to protecting the environment and enhancing biodiversity by encouraging sustainable practices and reducing carbon emissions. The Azraq Water Reserve, which is managed by the Society, is one of the most important nature reserves in Jordan; it is home to a rich diversity of plants and animals, and this reserve plays an important role in protecting natural resources and maintaining ecological balance.
