Royal Caribbean has announced the appointment of Melanie Wood, who recently joined the UK and Ireland sales team as key account manager (KAM).
Melanie has six years’ experience working within the travel industry, most recently working as part of the product management team at Cruise 1st. She also previously held the position of sales specialist at Cruise 1st and Cruise 118, which allowed her to expand her knowledge of retail, product marketing as well as cruise and the wider travel industry.
Melanie will report into head of key accounts, Adam Sharp, and will be responsible for the day-to-day management of several key accounts for the business.
Melanie will enable agents to effectively sell Royal Caribbean holidays and keep them informed of training, events and other incentives.
Adam Sharp, head of key accounts for UK&I, Royal Caribbean said, ‘’Melanie demonstrates a real passion for the cruise industry and we’re excited to welcome her onboard. Having previously worked for one of our key accounts, Melanie brings a unique perspective to the Royal Caribbean sales team, helping us develop our team into the industry’s best.’’
Melanie Wood added, ‘’I was initially drawn to the cruise industry through a family member’s fond memories of working as a performer onboard and this was something I also wanted to be part of. I have always been impressed by Royal Caribbean’s creative innovation, spectacular ships and extraordinary experiences both off and onboard and I look forward to welcoming new generations of cruise fans in years to come.’’
