Relish ‘Teppanyaki’ at Nagisa Izakaya Bali
Teppanyaki is a Japanese cooking style on the grill and will be served directly to the diners right after it is cooked in front of them. The restaurant itself is quite popular in Japan as well as all over the world. Nagisa Izakaya Japanese Dining Experience or well known as Nagisa Izakaya Bali launched Teppanyaki at the same time as the Japanese restaurant first opened to the public in 2019 and it becomes one of the diner’s favorites. The reason is that Nagisa Izakaya Bali does authentic Japanese cuisine that is led by a Teppanyaki Chef who has years of experience to master his technique.
“Teppanyaki, even though it’s fried and cooked in oil but it’s sautéed instead of being submerged in large amounts of oil. Cook with little fat, however, the flavor is bold and the taste of garlic, ginger, and soy sauce will pamper your palate.” Said Takashi Hoshino, General Manager at Hotel Nikko Bali Benoa Beach.
He added “The uniqueness of Teppanyaki is its preparation and cooking methods. Chef Johnny will greet the diners with a Japanese greeting and immediately juggles using cooking utensils for about 1 minute which certainly lightens the mood. After the appetizers are cooked and served, Chef Johnny starts to turn off the lights in the Teppanyaki area which will shock the guests because they think there is a power outage, however, the darkness replaces by the lit-up fire.
Yes, the chef does the flaming by splashing the brandy on the grill. Then the diners applaud the attractions performed by Chef Johnny. A bit of drama in some of the interactions carried out by the chef, namely by using a large knife only to cut vegetables or flip prawns onto the grill. At the end of serving the food, Chef Johnny still surprises guests by writing on the hot pan a thank you for enjoying Teppanyaki at Nagisa Izakaya Bali, the chef even writes the guest’s name on it using sea salt. Furthermore, to indulge Teppanyaki lovers, Nagisa Izakaya Bali is providing 15% off until 16 May.”
Nagisa Izakaya Bali which is located at the Hotel Nikko Bali Benoa Beach also serves bento that can be enjoyed as a simple lunch to a varied ala carte menu that serves fresh ingredients on a daily basis.
