Registrations open for the 2nd edition of of AlUla Desert Blaze
The countdown has begun for the highly anticipated second edition of AlUla Desert Blaze, as ticket sales are now open. Runners can sign up to take on the ultimate test of endurance, set against the historic landscapes of the Saudi city, on August 24.
The marquee event provides athletes a chance to participate in one of the most daring foot races in the world, with SAR 176,000 (US$ 46,900) in cash prizes to be won.
Tickets are available for all four races – 5km (SAR 70), 10km (SAR 120), 21km (SAR 200), and 42km (SAR 350) – with men and women of all fitness levels competing for the chance to overcome this unparalleled sporting event.
Hegra, Saudi’s first UNESCO Heritage Site, marks the kick off point for runners participating in the 5km, 10km, and 21km races. While those looking to test themselves on the arduous 42km trail will set out from the heart of the Ashar Valley at Maraya, the record-breaking mirrored concert hall.
AlUla Desert Blaze marks another milestone within the year-round AlUla Moments calendar of events and festivals, taking advantage of the city’s historic landscape, which includes sandstone cliffs, lush oases, and fertile farmland.
