Regent Seven Seas Cruises, the world’s leading luxury cruise line, has taken delivery of the sixth ship in The World’s Most Luxurious Fleet, Seven Seas Grandeur – A Heritage of Perfection.
Seven Seas Grandeur is the culmination of Regent’s more than three decades of luxury cruising experience. This magnificent vessel, inspired by the past and wonderfully recreated for the future, was designed by the multi-award-winning Studio DADO and built by renowned shipbuilder Fincantieri in Ancona, Italy, in just over two years.
Seven Seas Grandeur will provide among the industry’s highest space and staff-to-guest ratios with a gross tonnage of 55,500, a crew of 548, and a capacity of 746 guests. It will offer unrivalled space, unparalleled service, Epicurean perfection, fascinating art, and transformative experiences for guests beginning the moment they step on board.
“We would like to thank Studio DADO and Fincantieri for their outstanding collaboration in realising this incredible new vessel, which truly builds on the ground-breaking traditions of Regent’s exceptional Explorer-class ships which came before,” said Harry Sommer, President and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. “Seven Seas Grandeur’s inaugural season is all but sold out, which is testament to the burgeoning popularity of the unrivalled Regent experience and also reflective of the ship being the most anticipated launch of 2023.”
“The refined style, matchless elegance, and breathtaking beauty of Seven Seas Grandeur will exceed the expectations of our loyal past guests and those new to Regent,” stated Andrea DeMarco, President of Regent Seven Seas Cruises. “As the appetite for luxury travel continues to grow, the delivery of Seven Seas Grandeur provides even more opportunities to cruise the world while enjoying the highest standards of hospitality in lavish and spacious surroundings.”
Captain Luciano Montesanto and his exceptional senior leadership team will command Seven Seas Grandeur on her inaugural trip from Trieste, Italy, to Barcelona, Spain, on 18 November 2023. The ship will next sail across the Atlantic to Miami, Florida, for an elegant and exclusive gala event on 10 December 2023, where the ship’s Godmother, a founding member of The Fabergé Heritage Council and Peter Carl Fabergé’s great-granddaughter, will complete her christening duties.
Guests can then explore the Caribbean, two Panama Canal transits, and an itinerary sailing the United States Eastern Seaboard in a nearly sold-out inaugural season before sailing back across the Atlantic from New York to Barcelona in March to explore the Mediterranean for summer 2024.
Seven Seas Grandeur will witness the fall colours in Canada and New England in September and October before concluding a luxury year of travel and exploring more of the Caribbean in 2024.
The stateroom categories aboard Seven Seas Grandeur range from 307 square feet to approximately 4,443 square feet. The accommodation designs evoke an elevated, residential feel, harnessing the qualities of natural light, meticulously thought-through layouts, art, and materials, from the palatial, US$11,000-per-night Regent Suite to the contemporary yet timeless Distinctive Suites to the beautifully appointed Spacious Suites.
With 130 new dishes created exclusively for Seven Seas Grandeur, Epicurean Perfection has been enhanced across the ship’s eight magnificent dining experiences, including its five complimentary specialty restaurants.
Senior executive chef Michael Meyepa, food & beverage director Stéphane Carriou, and a dedicated crew of the industry’s greatest chefs, sommeliers, and service professionals will provide an unrivalled dining experience on board. In addition, captivatingly reimagined designs for signature restaurants Compass Rose, Prime 7, Chartreuse, and La Veranda will enhance the culinary experience.
The ship’s Culinary Arts Kitchen offers hands-on classes, special demonstrations, and more in a professional-grade culinary teaching facility guided by highly experienced chefs to guests who wish to develop their culinary talents. The global destinations visited by the whole Regent fleet generate a diverse curriculum of classes. The curriculum includes French food and wine courses, New Zealand beef and seafood, and Pacific Northwest flavours.
Seven Seas Grandeur will also house a 1,600-piece art collection, the Pièce de Résistance, including a custom-designed masterpiece – Journey in Jewels – the first Fabergé Egg to reside permanently at sea. In addition, the ship will debut Regent’s first digital art tour, Art Experience, which will be available in December 2023 through the new Regent Mobile App.
Other highlights of the ship’s art collection include multiple pieces by Picasso, a custom-made bronze and hand-cast glass Bonsai Cherry Tree sculpture that will greet guests entering the Asian-fusion restaurant Pacific Rim, and “The Enchanted Tree,” a 40-foot-tall hand-woven tapestry by world-renowned Brazilian artist Walter Goldfarb.
Seven Seas Grandeur will debut four new, extraordinary shows. Pasión, Ignite the Night, Marauder’s Ball, and ICONS showcase world-class artists’ talent and breathtaking choreography, providing visitors with memorable experiences. The new shows feature the genuine flair of Grammy Award winners in music and world-renowned choreographers such as Dancing with the Stars Britt Stewart, Argentine Tango royalty Francisco Forquera, and acclaimed Broadway director John MacInnis. They were created under the visionary leadership of Kai Alan Carrier, Director of Artistic Theatrical Entertainment.
The ship’s Serene Spa & Wellness experience will feature new and exclusive spa treatments with an indulgent menu that integrates best-in-class techniques and luxury ingredients from around the world.
New treatments include using an amber and quartz crystal bed for restorative power, an advanced treatment table for a Zero Gravity Wellness Massage, and a Tahitian Hydration Ritual offered only to Regent Suite guests.
