Qatar Airways has just introduced a freshly curated in-flight dining menu for its Australian flights, highlighting locally produced, sustainably farmed food. The airline’s Business and Economy Class menus have been rolled out gradually across its Australian network. They are now completely integrated into all flights.
Qatar Airways’ new menus express the company’s commitment to providing its passengers with high-quality meals made from responsibly sourced ingredients.
The menus will be changed often to provide passengers with various alternatives. They will always contain excellent and fresh local products sourced from sustainable vendors throughout Australia. The airline’s commitment to using local foods will be reflected in its choice to provide different menus for outward and incoming flights.
Shashank Bhardwaj, vice president of catering services for Qatar Airways, said, “Our passengers are passionate about food, and Qatar Airways has taken this passion into consideration when developing our new menus for the Australian market.” The quality of the cuisine we provide our guests is a big part of why they have such a pleasant time on board.
“Qatar Airways works closely with farmers and wine-makers around Australia to source seasonal local, fresh and healthy ingredients. We are excited to share Australian produce with the world through our in-flight dining experience.”
Some featured dishes on the new Business Class menus include braised Victorian lamb shank with coconut rendang sauce, braised Hunter Valley chicken breast packed with tomato and ricotta, and New South Wales beef tenderloin with potato fondant. For example, Tasmanian smoked salmon on a toasted English muffin, burrata cheese with Bowen heirloom cherry tomatoes, and basil pesto are all available to passengers. The wine list has been updated to offer new options, including two Australian and one New Zealand wine.
Currently, Qatar Airways serves five major cities in Australia with over 40 weekly flights between them: Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Brisbane, and Adelaide.
