Travel Daily catches up with Cachet Resorts’ go-getting new signing to get the low-down on Cachet Resort Dewa Phuket, ahead of its December launch.
Congratulations on your new role as GM of the Cachet Resort Dewa Phuket. What can the resort’s staff expect from you, and what is your leadership style?
Thank you very much, I’m very happy to lead this wonderful property under Cachet Hotel Group. The staff are genuine service-minded people who take pride in providing our guests with a great personalised service. They expect a dynamic leader to guide them and lead from the front. I truly believe in positive leadership, creating a good work environment where the staff can be happy, coached, supported and controlled as well.
You have previously held senior roles at hotels in Bangkok. What is your take on the travel industry in Phuket, how does it differ from Bangkok?
Phuket is a big leisure destination where the length of stay differs from Bangkok as well as the market mix segment. Guest’s expectations are different as well as from resort to city hotels. However, everyone wants to experience luxury and comfort but in a resort, guests are usually more relaxed.
With the Grand Opening set for 16th December, what plans do you have for the resort to make an impact, and stand out in such a competitive arena?
We will have many exciting new international branded outlets at Cachet Resort Dewa. With Aleta, a modern upbeat seafood bar and grill with some Mexican influences; Stonehaus, a warm and inviting wine bar – as well as our new Cachet Pool Club with resident DJ – we will definitely stand out in this competitive arena.
We are really lucky to have the support from an International Hotel group and from the very experienced, famous and successful David Laris our chief creative officer.
As we are in a very quiet and protected area, which is also very close to many of Phuket’s main attractions, we are clearly a Boutique Lifestyle Resort with one of the best locations in Phuket.
What are the hotel’s main markets (in terms of business and nationality mix) and which areas will you focus on?
Our resort welcomes every nationality and every guest looking for a great experience. We have a good balanced mix of nationality with no dominance. It is really a multi-cultural and international Resort! One of the main assets of our property is that we are close to the airport – but without having the noise side effect.
We have lots of guests and expats from neighbouring countries who have a great lifestyle and come here to relax during the weekend, a place less than 2 hours from home; they can be in their room, enjoying one of the most beautiful beaches in Phuket – not to mention quietness, golf courses and other activities – without wasting time on transportation. We also have guests coming from far away, staying longer and who love our property for the same reasons. We are located in a protected area, near the National Park which guarantees a peaceful stay to our guests.
What can guests expect from the Cachet Resort Dewa Phuket under your leadership?
Our guests can expect a good and friendly service in a positive atmosphere, high standards, many activities, and for sure a happy and unique experience!
We are really customer-oriented and truly believe in continuous improvement process in order to exceed our guest’s satisfaction and always adapt ourselves to their needs.
Everything is done to make our guest have an unforgettable experience at Cachet Dewa Phuket, where we ensure they want to come back, and enjoy a great time with us, again and again.
