To achieve the 70% vaccination rate or 54 million Filipinos, the Philippines has announced a three-day vaccination drive nationwide starting today, 29 November to 1 December.
The NTF and NVOC plans to administer three million jabs daily during the “Bayanihan Bakunahan”. Another three-day inoculation drive is scheduled for 15-17 December. The first round of vaccination drive will focus on increasing the coverage of the first dose to 70% and booster jabs, while the December 15 to 17 activities will administer second doses and more booster shots. The goal is to ramp up the country’s vaccination rate by year-end anticipating the surge of returning Filipinos and international tourists by Christmas.
The Philippines has opened more than 12,000 vaccination sites all over the country, including malls and schools.
“The NTF and NVOC, along with our partners from all levels of government and the private sector, are committed to achieve our goal, and that is to have a better, merrier, and happier Christmas,” read the statement from NTF chief Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. and Presidential Adviser for Covid-19 Response and NTF deputy chief Secretary Vince Dizon. “Again, we enjoin everyone to get vaccinated and be a hero to your family and loved ones.”
