Philippine Airlines (PAL) is aiming for the stars and it has chosen travel-tech leader Amadeus to transform the airline’s core technology system.
One of PAL’s goals is to achieve a 5-star Skytrax rating by 2020. But how will the Filipino airline do it?
The answer is by going for the Amadeus Altéa Suite – a complete Passenger Service System that aims to streamline and improve all passenger processes for PAL. It will help the airline with reservations, inventory, departure control, and flight management.
Now, we all want a more consistent and personalised service, right?
That is exactly what Altéa can give us through its landmark partnership with PAL.
Through this partnership, customers will enjoy a smoother experience – from booking to boarding – while supporting the airline’s mission to showcase the best of the Philippines to the world with an amazing passenger experience.
“We are immensely proud of our 4-Star rating, but it has only inspired us to work even harder. So our next goal is to get that 5th Star by 2020,” said Jaime J. Bautista, president and COO of Philippine Airlines.
Airline passenger service systems are highly-critical and complex platforms that make-up the technology backbone for airlines.
Once the Altéa Suite is implemented, its benefits will include faster and simpler check-in for travellers, the ability to re-accommodate disrupted passengers in a matter of seconds, improved on-time performance, and consistent, automatic application of customer preferences at every touch point.
In addition, adopting Altéa will support Philippine Airlines’ ambitions to join an airline alliance. More than two-thirds of Star Alliance airlines, three-quarters of oneworld airlines and half of Skyteam airlines use Altéa.
As a community platform for airlines, Altéa will also enhance relationships between partner airlines through real-time sharing of availability, fares, customer and booking information to deliver a harmonized customer experience across the alliance.
“It’s clear that Philippine Airlines’ business strategy is en route to further propel it into the future of travel, where its customers need it to be, and we’re extremely proud to walk that path with the airline,” said Cyril Tetaz, EVP, Airlines, Amadeus Asia Pacific.
