Oman Air is continuing its expansion across Europe and North America after signing a new partnership agreement with Lufthansa.
Under the new agreement, Oman Air passengers can connect to 59 destinations across Europe and North America from Lufthansa’s Frankfurt and Munich hubs on an interline basis.
At the same time, Lufthansa will codeshare with Oman Air on Oman Air operated services from both Frankfurt and Munich to Muscat, a statement said.
As part of the deal, Oman Air will be moving terminals to the Lufthansa operated terminals in Frankfurt terminal 1 and Munich terminal 2.
Oman Air will also be retiming its current services to Frankfurt to arrive and depart Frankfurt during the morning to facilitate connections in Frankfurt to Europe and North America in under three hours.
The Oman airline said it will also be operating its new Boeing Dreamliner 787-9 between Muscat and Frankfurt.
CEO Paul Gregorowitsch said: “Strategic codeshares are a crucial way for us to broaden customer choice. Our relationship with Lufthansa is a very important development for Oman Air allowing us to offer even better connectivity in Europe and the North Atlantic and we are delighted to be operating one of newest additions to the fleet, the Boeing Dreamliner on the Muscat to Frankfurt route.”
