Norwegian Viva – Norwegian Cruise Line’s 19th cruise ship — is scheduled to depart from San Juan, Puerto Rico, on her maiden voyage on 15 December 2023. The second ship of the Prima Class, Viva, is meant to exceed all expectations.
The Norwegian Viva is all about unique experiences. Outstanding cuisine, entertainment, activities, and leisure are available on every deck. The Norwegian Viva is genuinely unlike anything else on the high seas.
Here are some of her most distinctive and memorable features:
Where to Soak Up the Sun
Imagine yourself swimming on top of the ocean when you think about Viva. This ship was designed with an array of pools in mind, featuring two Infinity Pools, a main pool, an Aqua Park, a tidal wave slide, and several hot tubs.
Viva brings water play and relaxation to a whole new level. Her most distinctive water features may be found on Deck 8 at Ocean Boulevard’s Infinity Beach, where two stunning Infinity Pools flank either side, surrounded by beach chairs and daybeds.
It doesn’t get much better than sitting in the sun, listening to the waves, and floating in an Infinity Pool while looking right into the ocean. Or simply cool down in the comfortable cooling ponds that surround the daybeds. Because life on Viva is easy. The main pool deck, which begins on Deck 17, is also full of exciting activities, with two infinity hot tubs, a pool bar, a Kid’s Aqua Park, a sun deck, and Norwegian’s tidal wave waterslide.
Where to Get Your Eat On
Complimentary Dining
You might need to figure out where to begin with many food options. We know that many of our guests want many of their meals to be complimentary, so we’ve added a slew of new options that allow you to dine in style while saving up for those special nights.
Cruisers frequently rush straight to the ship’s buffet — Viva’s is in Surfside Café, and we’ve added an outside Surfside Grill for a fast lunch like hot dogs, burgers, and more. However, we encourage guests to head straight to Norwegian’s food hall, Indulge Food Hall, where diners can choose from 11 stations around the globe.
Indian, Italian, and Chinese cuisine, BBQ, rotisserie, tapas, and desserts are complimentary! You can sit inside or outside or grab and go for a ‘picnic’ at one of the ship’s various lounging areas. The food is delicious, so you’ll want to taste it immediately.
Hudson’s is Viva’s stunning main dining room. With 270-degree views of the ocean, floor-to-ceiling windows, and innovative menus crafted with the freshest produce, you may never want to leave.
The Commodore Room, our second main dining room, provides exquisite dining in a relaxed setting, with delicious menus (don’t miss the chocolate lava cake) and sleek decor.
Specialty Dining & Drinks
What’s a holiday without a few special nights? We’ve thought long and hard about those indulgent times on Viva to ensure we’re providing the finest experience possible. The ship is home to Norwegian’s Mediterranean restaurant, Palomar — a spectacular and stunning seafood-forward eatery.
Indulge in rich fare like whole salted fish and grilled octopus. At the brand-new Metropolitan bar, guests can also experience Viva’s newfound commitment to sustainably sourced food and drink. While sipping amazing drinks on the ocean, you may feel good about the earth by ordering craft cocktails that reduce food waste or a glass of biodynamic wine.
Our popular teppanyaki-style restaurant has been updated and renamed – Hasuki offers all the favourite dishes and excitement in a more elevated atmosphere. The stunning hand-blown chandelier at our traditional French bistro, Le Bistro, is not to be missed. And, of course, favourites like Cagney’s Steakhouse, Onda by Scarpetta and Le Bistro French restaurant will be on board (with a touch of Prima flare, naturally).
Where to Be Amazed
We promised that Viva would exceed all expectations, and she has done just that. Prepare to be entertained from dusk to dawn (and perhaps beyond). Our performances are now at the new, transformational Viva Theatre and Club.
This three-story theatre transforms into a magnificent Vegas-style nightclub. You can participate in Press Your Luck Live, attend acts like Beetlejuice: The Musical, and party late at night with live DJs and cutting-edge light shows.
Head to the Penrose Atrium for coffee or an evening drink and spend some time leisurely with people Horizon-watching. This fantastic space is three floors high, with stunning views from every angle. Regarding levels, The Viva Speedway is the world’s first three-level racetrack at sea. It’s longer and faster than our previous racetracks (already the first of their category), so prepare to put your foot down.
Where to Get Your Thrills
One thing is sure – you will always have something to do on Viva. In addition to the standard fare of sunbathing and swimming, international cuisine, and nightly entertainment, there is an endless variety of fantastic activities to choose from.
The new The Rush and The Drop are the quickest dry slides at sea and will surely set your heart pounding. Ocean Boulevard is a one-third-mile boardwalk filled with dining options, bars, lounges, and the ship’s glass walkway, Oceanwalk.
The Concourse is an outdoor sculpture garden on a cruise ship, unlike any other. It is a sight to behold, and if you’re into social media, the pictures here will create some serious travel envy.
Where to relax
And if your thrills come from diving into deep relaxation and self-care (we get it), head to the brand-new Mandara Spa & Salon, which showcases a two-story waterfall, salt pools, the first charcoal sauna at sea, and over 50 specialty treatments.
Norwegian Viva offers a variety of itineraries to Europe and The Caribbean; log on to the Norwegian Cruise Line website to check them out.
