Low-cost airline Norwegian’s loyalty programme, Norwegian Reward, has today launched the Reward eShop for its members in the UK and Spain, in partnership with Collinson Group, the leading provider of travel and financial loyalty commerce solutions. Norwegian Reward members can now earn points while online shopping at nearly 1,200 retailers, including Tesco, John Lewis and Marks and Spencer, which in turn helps reduce the cost of Norwegian flights.
Norwegian Reward is the loyalty programme of Norwegian – Europe’s third largest low-cost airline. It is free to join and members earn CashPoints, the programme’s currency, which reduce the cost of flights with Norwegian. CashPoints can be used to pay for Norwegian flights partially or in full, as well as extras such as checked baggage and seat reservation without any restrictions.
Drawing on Collinson Group’s existing relationships with over 4,000 retailers worldwide, the Reward eShop marks the first-time Norwegian Reward members in the UK and Spain can earn CashPoints through everyday purchases from nearly 1,200 leading retail e-commerce websites.
Norwegian is launching a competition to celebrate the announcement, giving one customer the chance to win 10,000 CashPoints by shopping at the Reward eShop – equivalent to £1,000, enough for two return flights from Europe to New York. Five runner-up prizes of 2,000 CashPoints worth around £200 are also available.
Brede Huser, SVP at Norwegian Reward said, “Norwegian Reward is fast growing its partner network in the UK and Spain to give more choice to our members and to make their money travel further when flying with Norwegian.
“This is the first time we are giving our members in the UK and Spain a fast and simple way to earn CashPoints from everyday online purchases at nearly 1,200 leading retailers.
“Now Norwegian Reward members can convert CashPoints earned from their weekly grocery shop into high-quality, affordable flights to Europe and worldwide with Norwegian.”
James Berry, E-Commerce Director, Collinson added, “Norwegian always strives to create value and improve the member experience at every turn, and their approach aligns perfectly with ours. We are very excited to be working with them on the launch of the Reward eShop, which we are confident will deliver great returns for both Norwegian and its members.
“By making CashPoints available through a wide range of popular online retailers, Norwegian is offering its loyalty programme members more opportunities to engage with the airline, and reward them for something as simple as their everyday online shopping.”
The news comes amid a period of rapid transatlantic expansion for Norwegian, which is the only low-cost carrier offering direct flights from multiple cities in Europe to the USA.
