Cruise Saudi, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, is establishing Aroya Cruises.
The name Aroya is derived from the two words “Arabian” and “roya,” which mean “vision” or “dream,” respectively. Supporting Cruise Saudi’s aims of hosting 1.3 million cruise travellers by 2035 and generating 50,000 jobs directly and indirectly, the line will attempt to draw attention to Arabian destinations to Saudi locals, tourists, and regional guests.
Lars Clasen, CEO of Cruise Saudi, called this “a historic step in our ambitious strategy to create a premium cruise ecosystem in Saudi, in line with Vision 2030.” “Aroya Cruises will be operating as a separate brand within the Cruise Saudi portfolio, intending to provide experiences and services tailored to Arabian tastes.”
Ghassan Khan will head the launch of Aroya, which will be run independently from the rest of Cruise Saudi.
“This is a very exciting time,” Khan remarked. It is a great honour to play a role in the debut of this cruise line, which will be an integral part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to become a major worldwide cruise destination. The cruise itineraries for the upcoming commercial debut of Aroya are presently being planned.
